If you're looking for a fancy night out, The Plantation Grill at Double Six Luxury Hotel in Seminyak is the place to be. From the moment you step in, the atmosphere exudes elegance, from the stunning décor to even the bathrooms, which are a class above. The staff were impeccable—attentive, polished, and made the experience feel truly special.
We started our evening with a glass of champagne, followed by some of the most delicious oysters I've ever tasted—on par with the best I've had anywhere in the world. The portion sizes of the dishes were on the smaller side, but that only made us savor and appreciate every bite. Every dish was divine, perfectly crafted to delight the senses.
Our waiter, Nigel, was absolutely spectacular and made our evening even more memorable. Not only did he recommend dishes that turned out to be spot-on, but he also checked on us regularly to ensure everything was perfect. His entertaining personality and amusing little tidbits of information added a delightful charm to the experience.
The highlight of the evening was the live opera performance. The singer was absolutely mesmerizing and added an unforgettable layer of sophistication to the night.
Yes, it is on the expensive side, but as an occasional treat, it’s well worth it. For the ambiance, the impeccable service, and the divine cuisine, The Plantation Grill delivers a dining experience you won’t...
Read moreIt takes a bit to reserve a table at this place (down payment) but that part is actually quite easily arranged. You contact the number and ask for a payment link.
The place looked fantastic and had a great atmosphere. One could even imagine themselves not in Bali. The decoration reminded me somewhat of the Great Gatsby era which I/we love.
The food was also fantastic and actually even better than we expected. We went for scallops and chicken liver parfait as a starter and as a main we had the t bone and the wagyu. The wagyu was also recommended by the staff and it was delicious! Extra thanks for Yogi as he made our evening an extra pleasurable one (the other staff were also great and made sure to go to you as soon as they noticed that you wanted their help without you having to call for them).
We were also treated with a performance during the dinner by an opera singer which sounded great. It didn't last too long so it didn't disturb our dinner.
Parking was easy (we were by car and were able to park in the basement).
Before our table was ready we went to the rooftop bar which was well worth it with great views and (live) music. Note that this is separate from the Plantation Grill and the bill had to be settled separately.
A tip is to dress up a bit and transport yourself to a...
Read moreThis establishment has been around for a decade and it’s not what you would expect in Bali. I thought it apt to review it seeing as many similar restaurants from a decade ago have since quit the dining scene.
But the plantation grill is still going strong and makes for a wonderful night out of fun and good western food. Its sits on the 4 th floor of the double six hotel. The vibes here are over the top opulence of the decadence of the 1920s. Some diners come dressed to party but others are casual in their Bali flip flops and that does take away some of the glamour.
The food is still excellent and they specialise in their aged steaks of rib eye, strip loin and wagyu. Even the non beef options are worth trying . And no steak house is complete without the bomb Alaska. The wine list is decent. The live jazz saxophone music of popular classics comes on at the hour and makes for a wonderful backdrop and ambience. Upstairs there is also a cocktail lounge and if you are looking for something different in tourist Bali this is certainly worth considering .
Dress up, come Hungry and you’ll have...
