Warung Asia Thai Restaurant Seminyak — Restaurant in Kuta

Going back to Warung Asia reminds me why I love Massaman Curry as a meal. We had lunch there a week ago and liked the Massaman curry so much we went back for an evening meal.

The restaurant is divided into a downstairs (where we had lunch) and a more sophisticated upstairs where we had dinner.

The food was the same as was the price, the service was excellent in both places but a little more active and animated upstairs but that most likely was due to the number of patrons. The restaurant probably averaged 30 guests while we were there. Despite the largish number the service was quite quick and efficient.

Downstairs reminded me of an aircraft hanger ( a nice one) It was spacious but had more of a cafe feel about it which suited me for lunch.

Up stairs displayed very impressive bamboo featured architecture. The roof was vaulted and very high being supported by large bamboo poles whilst the ceiling/roof structure was supported by bamboo battens and a fibrous outer covering. Lighting consisted of fibrous woven coverings over orange muted lighting. It was a lovely arrangement.

We will again attend this restaurant and I will update this review. I did note some poor reviews but wanted to experience it for ourselves, and I am pleased we did.

Well done Warung Asia. My wife even wanted to buy one of their knives. Sadly they...

Money cheating ... 騙錢的待應，小心

Just had a dinner at Warung Asia. When asked for the bill, the waitress did not bring us the bill but told us to pay at the cashier. At the cashier, a waiter took over from the waitress to handle the bill and requested us to pay by cash as the credit card machine was not working properly (but the guests at the next table paid the bill by credit card a moment ago, and the bill was brought to their table instead of being asked to pay at the cashier). We had no choice but paid the bill of Rp196,000 with two Rp100,000 notes. The waiter took the money, put his hands down to the counter for a second and brought to us with one Rp100,000 note and one Rp10,000 note!!! At that moment, we thought we took the wrong note and change the Rp10,000 note with another Rp100,000 note to settle the bill, but was later found to have used three Rp100,000 notes for dinner upon returning to the hotel. Will never go to Warung Asia again and suggest everyone to stay away from such a dishonest...

Don’t waste your time or money going here. After reading the reviews we decided to give this place a go. We ordered spring rolls for entree which didn’t taste right, just tasted weird... Then get our main meal, chicken satay sticks with steamed rice. The chicken pieces were tiny, they came out only just luke warm & had been cooked on a grill so the outside was burnt & were not cooked properly in the middle. The wait staff (a few of them) noticed we weren’t really eating our food so came over & asked us “how is your meal”.... So we told them but they were not interested. If you don’t like the truth then don’t ask your customers how their meals are.. Definitely will never go back or...
