My wife and I came to Suka for breakfast around 1030 am and the entire place was packed. Luckily we were able to get a table in the open air upstairs area with no wait (the waiter said they weren’t that busy 😂…. But definitely felt like they were). The atmosphere of the restaurant was very relaxing and laid back despite how busy it was. All of the servers were kind and had smiles on their faces. The servers came quickly to take our order. We ordered the cold drip coffee, dragon fruit smoothie bowl, avo smash with scrambled egg, and Jamu with You. The coffee and the Jamu were very fresh and refreshing. The dragon fruit smoothie bowl was one of the best so far that we have tried in Bali… the presentation was superb and the mix of the dried apricot, granola and fruit added nice texture to the bowl. The dragon fruit smoothie portion was not watery like it is at some other locations, yet it was light and fluffy. The avocado smash on sour dough hit the spot as well with the feta and tomatoes on top. It was nice that they give two slices of sour dough instead of just one like at many other locations. The avocado could be spread fully across both slices, as the bottom piece was only half covered so they could stack the bread for presentation. The side of scrambled eggs was a nice consistency as well. I would highly recommend giving this spot a try...
Read moreI like Suka Espresso in Uluwatu and I like it in Ubud too. Coffee is very nice as well as meal. However, I can see that the portions are much smaller than before. I had smashed avo, which contains 2 slices of bread now crossed over each other, and I understand they didn't want to make the upper slice wet but I'd rather have it wet from the avo on the bottom side than having a half of the slice dry without anything. In my opinion the "big brekkie" doesn't worth the price. Some employees are nice and friendly and helpful, but some are...I don't know how to describe it...there's one girl that looked so shy, always when we called her and she stood 1 meter from us she just smiled and walked away and looked for someone who could take our order, in the end 3 persons just smiled at us until someone experienced could take our order. The girl even didn't want to take sugar from our table that another colleague showed her to take for another table, in the end the guy who showed her where the sugar is had to go on his own for the sugar because it seemed she was too shy to take it. I didn't find her helpful for the team. Maybe she's a trainee but she had no label so hard to say. Overall food and coffee is very tasty. In the morning it's busy and sometimes need to wait a while for...
Read moreThis place ticks a lot of boxes, as they have a lot to offer. We started with a coffee each, I ordered a piccolo and my partner ordered a flat white, both with oat milk. They were made well and the texture was good, resulting in an enjoyable coffee, but for me the coffee itself was a bit basic in taste. I prefer light roast as there is more going on in the cup. So having the choice of beans would be a huge plus to this place. Latte art could've been a bit better but that's me being picky too. We then had some lunch, I had shakshuka and my partner had a humus and veg sandwich (can't recall the name) and they were both really good! Lots of flavor. We then ordered a cake each, one chocolate and one carrot cake. Both were fantastic and the chocolate cake was huge! Throughout our time there, we spoke with numerous different members of staff and they were all incredibly friendly and happy, so 10/10 for customer service. Service was also quick considering they were relatively busy, but everything remained fresh. Total rating would be 4.5⭐ rounded up to 5⭐. If you want coffee, a cake, or lunch, or dinner, or some drinks, you can get...
