Forget Paris! My little warung brings Paris delight and hype to Jogja. Who needs to travel all the way to France when Jogjakarta is now home to boulangeries and patisseries that rival the best? My Little warung, tucked away on a quiet side street near the bustling Pariwotaman area, is quickly becoming the talk of the town, and for very good reason. This charming new establishment is a testament to the fact that great taste and authentic quality can be found in the most unexpected of places.
Stepping into My Little warung, you're greeted by an unpretentious and simple shop aesthetic. It's not about elaborate decor or flashy presentations; the focus here is squarely on the culinary delights. The cozy, welcoming atmosphere makes it the perfect spot for a solitary coffee break, a relaxed chat with friends, or simply to grab some exquisite baked goods to go. It feels like a genuine neighborhood gem that's found its footing instantly.
The star of the show for many, and a true testament to their craft, is undoubtedly the madeleine. Imagine biting into a perfectly golden-brown shell, delicate and crisp on the outside, yielding to a subtly buttery and airy interior. Each one boasts that iconic hump, a sign of skillful baking, and the taste is simply heavenly. It’s the kind of treat that elevates your simple coffee moment into a truly luxurious experience. Sipping your coffee while enjoying a madeleine here isn't just a suggestion; it's a small, perfect ritual to be savored.
But My Little warung isn't just about sweet temptations. Their salty section is equally impressive. They offer a selection of sandwiches that are far from ordinary, crafted with fresh, high-quality ingredients and likely their own expertly baked bread, ensuring a satisfying and flavorful bite. And then there's the quiche – rich, savory, with a wonderfully flaky crust that speaks volumes of the care put into each bake. These savory options make it a fantastic choice for a light lunch or a more substantial snack.
The coffee, too, is thoughtfully curated to complement their baked goods, providing that essential counterpoint to the sweetness or a comforting companion to the savories.
What truly sets My Little warung apart, beyond the specific items, is the overall great taste! It's evident that they use quality ingredients and possess a genuine passion for baking. Every item feels authentic, crafted with care and a deep understanding of French baking traditions.
Its location on a side street near Pariwotaman gives it a slightly hidden gem feel, but don't let that deter you. It's easily accessible and the slight detour makes the discovery all the more rewarding. This place isn't just a new cafe; it's the new hype of Jogja because it delivers on its promise of exceptional quality and a genuine taste of Parisian-inspired baking right here...
Read moreCinnamon roll was better than Manis di Bibir. For us, its one the best cinnamon roll in town.
Brioche surprisingly was the star during this visit. Soft, spongy, and more importantly, not too sweet. Perfect combination with both butter and blueberry jam (CMIIW, its a homemade jam) which they served on a cute sambal plate.
Lychee tea had a good balance between the tea and the lychee, which was approved by my wife who is the professional tea taster :-)
We love the 2nd floor space, eventho was tight, but well designed with american diner style.
Definitely a perfect place to have a breakfast during the weekend.
Unfortunatelly the cappucinno was too milky and kinda a bit cold, not even warm.
Serving time was long, probably due to understaff, but still acceptable.
One of the server (with long hair) was rude and traumatizing as hell. He's kinda douchebag guys with dry jokes.
.....but wait, theres more.
In the end of our visit, this a-hole was forgot to pack us the brioche that we paid already earlier. Me and my wife requested for a refund. He was trying to scam us by saying that the order was already in the system so that he coundnt fully refund us... yara yara yara...
Instead, he offered us only two cut of brioche and refunded the rest. I mean whats the difference between full refund and half refund. (The brioche was for my parents, i dont think its appropriate to give them half/cut brioche). So we insisted to have a full refund.
Then he just gave us the cash he took from the box and cancelled the order for us (I guessed the system worked just fine), and just like that... No appologize or anything. Our expectations on the hospitality were low, but holy eff???
*Definitely worth 1 star if its not because the perfect brioche and cinnamon roll. The food was great, but certainly...

Overall experience is good but when it come to taste, well, it decent. Great ambience and lucky I could easily find the spot to sit and enjoy the time. What I didnot expect is the coffee that come with ice, I just did not notice what I ordered actually. Got this cake as recommended by the staff, it was good, but a bit sweet personally. And the madeline is okay...but I ever tasted the other one that marked significant authentique taste which I never forget, so yeah...both are decent cake. Maybe I should order other menu next time. What I love the most is the place itself but not sure if the crowd occurs. It feels like I can sit there for hours, just because it was not busy as usual I guess.
Have heard people before me that said about the stairs that far from safety. For me it is no problem at all, but for the elderly, it may be...
