Not worth visiting for dine-in. Potential for take away food. We went to Delhi Rasoi for a nice date night dinner and were utterly disappointed. We entered the place and were immediately seated between the large entrance and hallway although it was winter and there was a major draft. We asked for a different table but weren’t accommodated so despite other tables being empty in the back. Staff was friendly yet involve of providing decent level of service. Empty drinks were overseen and meals were rushed throughout the evening. Food itself was okay but the dining experience was dreadful. Not in a million years will I dine in there again. Not sure how the level of service was so bad there but your staff could really use some hardcore basic training. Maybe we will order takeout again if my favourite Indian restaurant is closed but other than that, there’s a lot of better places out there. Ps. The night ended with us sitting in the crowded dining room and having to give our card details via phone loudly because we were not told that their cad reading device was out of order beforehand. This was completely unacceptable and could have been avoided. Almost felt like a scam… not...
Read moreLet’s start on a positive note here - the laccha paratha we ordered here were magnificent! The layers in it with the right amount of ghee was just so perfect.
Now coming to the rough part - It’s 5 AM and I’m posting this review just because the portion size was so small and I woke up in middle of the night looking for food. The restaurant claims they have bigger portion size compared to other Indian restaurants. FALSE Gravy served in a small bowl with merely 7-8 paneer pieces is not enough for one and it is priced about 20 bucks. Biryani - I ordered vegetable biryani. I just cannot fathom out why people add sweetcorn in biryani. It just puts me off.
Forgot to add - I laughed hard when I saw that the restaurant charged a euro for pickle (aam ka achaar).
Also the fact that you have to pay cover charge 20 bucks per head is something new to me and on top of that you’ll be paying 10% service charge - sounds like a rip off.
Final verdict - Fairplay to the kitchen, but the quantity, taste and price are simply...
Read moreWe went to Delhi rasoi to celebrate a friend's birthday. We ordered their starters to begin with. They were seekh kebabs, paneer masala. We were also offered poppadoms and two chutneys to compliment the poppadoms. For the main course we ordered lacha parathas, garlic breads, Malai kofta, amritsari chicken and dal makkhani. All the meals were delicious and there was no meal that was left over. The overall food experience and the ambience was great. They deserve the five stars! Since it was my friend's birthday, she was also served a complimentary gulab jamun and all the staff, friends and people from the next table celebrated and sung birthday song for my friend. It was so lovely! The staff were very kind and sweet to us. They take care of the customers really well. If you are craving some delicious Indian food while taking care of your monetary pocket - you should definitely visit Delhi Rasoi. Please see the photos to relate to my story and enjoy the food visual and go...
