Nando's Dun Laoghaire — Restaurant in Dún Laoghaire-Rathdown

This is a joke we waited 1 hour for food to come that wasn’t even ours. I brought my child here after his communion as he wanted to have a nice meal with his mam and brother , so we decided to come here and go to get ice cream after, anyways they wore rude and had 1 poor girl running around serving the food on her own while the others stood around doing nothing. the staff standing around doing nothing kept staring at me and my child and then laughed at me and my children. I’m not sure why and when i went to ask them why they were laughing they all looked at each other and laughed more at my son and made fun of him for having his tongue out because he has down syndrome, very rude my son started to cry and i was stressed out trying to calm him down. I let most things slide but when it’s about my son with down syndrome I will not have it. They then continued to bully my other son who is mixed race and called him racial slurs. One of them even said “get on the floor and clean it you dirty slave”. Absolutely disgusting!!! They clearly have immature young kids working here that don’t have any special needs kids of their own. I’d like to state only reason this place has 2 stars is due to the location and the ice in the drinks. On the 8th of January myself and 3 of my friends wondered into this establishment what I thought would be a routine stop turned into a nightmare. It started by me going up to order I ordered a chicken wrap with hot sauce and halloumi chips and a side of halloumi. All seemed well the worker seemed as if he didn’t have much experience but a lovely chap. Myself and my table were waiting for or food eventually it arrived and the lack of enthusiasm from the waitress was overwhelming she placed down 3 plates and not mine. 10-15 minutes later they bring my order but in my wrap there were many things I didn’t order and no halloumi jam with my halloumi. I said it to the waitress she took my plate and said she would fix it after another 20 minutes of waiting I decided I didn’t want the food anymore so I went up to the counter to get a refund. But there was another issue here my meal had cost €21.80 but I had only got back €19.30. Over all I wouldn’t recommend extremely disappointed and hope they can get there...

The 30th of March 2025 at around 20 past 8 my partner and I went in here to get dinner. My partner went up he was informed there was no lemon & herb, broccoli, spicy rice (which was only communicated to him when brought up individually) - that was fine. We understood it gets busy and things like that happen in the food service industry. What we didn't understand was why the server with the name-tag "Dirk" decided to be unbelievably rude and remark, "Anytime today" when my partner had to start picking things they actually had available on the menu! My partner had never even been informed upfront of what was missing from the menu from the beginning of the ordering service and to have the gall to be so cheeky was appalling. The hostess who greeted us was lovely so I don't know if "Dirk" was having a bad day or if he needs to pick a different career path if he can't hack being hospitable in the hospitality industry.
