I tried #Asahi Asian Street Food in Dublin and found it to be an average experience, especially considering my previous experiences with similar establishments around the world.
The location of the restaurant is convenient, and the layout is pleasing to the eye. While most of the staff appeared friendly and welcoming, I was disappointed with the lady who took my order. She seemed disinterested and lacked the warmth and helpfulness that one would expect in a customer service role. Her dry welcome and lack of information made me feel somewhat unwelcome. I decided to try the bento 🍱 box, which I found to be sufficient if you're not overly hungry. The miso soup had a good taste, and the highlight of the box was definitely the Gyoza. I would even recommend ordering it as a separate meal, as it stood out in terms of flavor and quality. However, the chicken stir fry was a bit disappointing. The staff assured me that it was fresh, but the taste was off, similar to how fish can sometimes taste 'fishy'. This affected my overall impression of the meal. 🥘 In summary, my experience at #Asahi Asian Street Food was average. If you're in need of a quick lunch and are not expecting anything exceptional, it can serve as a decent option to fill your stomach. However, if the restaurant aims to sustain its business and compete in the market, it should work on improving the hospitality aspect. Providing a warm and informative welcome, along with ensuring the freshness and quality of all dishes, would greatly enhance the overall experience for customers....
Read moreI had the crispy chicken teriyaki and my partner had the yakisoba.
Chicken teriyaki - 4/5 - good portion, I quite liked it but did not like that the rice was served in a takeaway box. I paid €14 for this dish, I do not want it to be partially served in a takeaway box when I'm eating in!
Yakisoba - 2.5/5 - good portion but it was not yakisoba, it was closer to a chinese stir fried noodles in my opinion as it wasn't using soba noodles and lacked the sweetness yakisoba normally has. It wasn't bad, but it is not truthful to the name.
Staff were very nice and friendly. Environment was nice. Two lunch meals were €28. I dont mean to keep harping on about the rice in a takeaway box, but that really cheapened the whole experience for me as it felt like cheap considering the rice and brought my score down a lot, hence...
Read moreI had a really disappointing experience here. The first problem was the amount of chicken on the Katsu Curry. I have been to many, many Asian restaurant in Dublin and by far the amount is around 2-3x less in this store. I was quite shocked how can they pass that 6-7 tiny bite size pieces of chicken as a Katsu Curry plate at that insanely high price. Again, compared to all other places, the amount of food you get is 2-3x less. However, the bigger problem was partner's order came like15 minutes after mine. I had to either eat while she is waiting or wait and have my food cold. This is not okay, these orders should come together, with maybe a few minutes between, considering the store was %70 empty. Sadly, I will not be visiting this restaurant again, and I can not...
