This is one of my favorite spots to grab a pint in Dublin, but yesteday I had a disappointing experience. I ordered a Guinness, but it was served in a Guinness 0.0 glass, which made me unsure if I had been given the correct drink. I politely asked the staff to confirm that it was the regular Guinness with alcohol and not the 0.0 version. I also asked if it would be possible to have it poured into a standard glass for clarity.
The staff were friendly and initially agreed to change it. However, after consulting with the manager (Paul), things took a turn. The manager came over to explain that it was indeed regular Guinness, just served in the wrong glass. I then requested, again politely, that they pour me a new pint into a proper glass since I had only taken a single sip.
At this point, the manager’s attitude shifted drastically. He started saying that if I didn’t like it, I could go somewhere else, and he spoke loudly enough for other customers to overhear. To make matters worse, he mumbled swearing while eventually giving me another pint. The entire situation felt unnecessarily hostile and unprofessional, especially since my request was reasonable and respectful.
This was a really unpleasant experience, and I can’t understand why the manager responded so aggressively when all I wanted was to ensure I received...

Read moreI'm torn about this place. The concierge at the hotel next door recommended this place highly. I was very excited to go. My partner and I go and take a couple of stools at the bar. The bartender and host see us sit down and keep pouring the orders they have. Understandable. So we wait, and wait and wait and wait. At this point, my boyfriend is upset and wants to tell these people off. Mind you, we are right in front of the bartenders but they serve people who walk up next to us. I finally get the attention of the lady and I ask "did I do something wrong? I've been here waiting and neither you or the other bartender have bothered to serve us". She apologized, went and jokingly hit the bartender in the head. He said he didn't see us. We were served and treated very very well after that but to get to that point, had to practically do summersaults for attention.
My bf said he never ever had that kind of issue, it only happened when I was with him. It did happen in several places when we were together. When he went to the places alone, instant service for him . He's Caucasian, and...
