My wife and I recently celebrated our 21st wedding anniversary at Brookwood on Baggot Street, and we couldn’t have asked for a more memorable experience. From the moment we arrived, we were welcomed with warmth and genuine hospitality. The staff were incredibly friendly, attentive, and made us feel immediately at ease — their professionalism and kindness truly enhanced our evening. We opted for the Tomahawk for Two deal, which included a generous Tomahawk steak, fries for two, two sauces, and a bottle of house red wine — all for €99.00. It’s an incredible value, especially considering the quality of both the food and service. While we had requested the steak to be cooked medium, it arrived slightly more on the medium-rare side. However, the flavours were so rich and the meat so tender that we decided to continue without sending it back — and we’re glad we did. It was absolutely delicious, expertly seasoned and perfectly complemented by the sauces and crispy fries. What truly touched us was the thoughtful gesture of a complimentary dessert to mark our anniversary. It was a lovely surprise and added a personal touch to an already special night. Brookwood strikes the perfect balance between an upscale dining experience and a warm, welcoming atmosphere. It’s clear that the staff take pride in making each guest feel celebrated, whether it's a regular dinner out or a once-in-a-lifetime occasion. We left feeling full, happy, and genuinely appreciated. We’d highly recommend Brookwood for anyone looking to mark a special occasion — or simply enjoy a high-quality meal with excellent service in a stylish yet cozy setting.

Côte de Boeuf. Don’t order this meat at this restaurant. It doesn’t worth it. I intended to order the Chateaubriand initially, and the waitress then came back telling me that they ran out of this cut and offered the Côte de Boeuf. Based on my previous experiences in other steakhouses, I decided to go for it, and as you can see in the pictures, that in my humble opinion , is not a proper €90 cut of meat. (You can google the steak yourselves to see what I mean). There was too much fat in the piece and fibres that I couldn’t even chew and they also thrown the bone in like if I was going to scrape the meat out of it and eat it… really? Chimichurri sauce was more oil than anything and the Béarnaise had a weird flavour… dunno just saying. Broccoli was okay and Caesar salad… well, it’s salad dressing from a bottle on top of a baby lettuce sliced in half. I am not disqualifying this place with my review, I am just presenting my experience with this particular cut and nothing else. If you want to go for the Cote, please save your time and money and go somewhere else , or order something different. In the end, the idea is that the restaurant reads these reviews and improve their quality and serve food and give a good experience , instead of just put a piece of meat onto a pan or plate and give it to their patrons… Hope this helps.

My husband & I rolled into Dublin around 6PM, starving! We were not sure where to begin, but looked over online reviews for guidance. Brookwood popped up close to the top of the list, so we decided to check it out. It's a small, cozy atmosphere with an open kitchen. The vibe was very cool and it smelled amazing inside!! We ordered a whipped goat cheese appetizer that was truly amazing! My husband had a filet for his entree and I ordered the chicken. Both were sensational and the accompanying side dishes were just as tasty! My husband had one of their local beers and I tried their house ginger cocktail. Both were delicious! We finished off the night with a berry crumble & homemade honeycomb ice cream, SO GOOD!! The staff was super friendly and made our first meal in Dublin a memorable one. Highly recommend!

I am disappointed to say I would not ever return

In the past (albeit 2 years ago) I had a number of good meals dinning upstairs. I booked a table and was seated downstairs basically in the kitchen - which I do not recommend- and people are passing in and out with pots and pans. It’s not nice, also the staff are chattering about customers and orders (we were in ‘table 2’)

As I was the only person drinking I ordered a glass of Catena Zapata (Vivino 4.4 and average price $100) the only reason I mention this is it is a wine I drink on a regular basis, and it is their €14 ‘most expensive’ glass of wine!

Long story short, I was served a glass of wine by a waiter (who poured in the reception counter) from a bottle that was a totally different shape, when he served it I questioned if it was correct - he went back to check and he agreed it was not the wine.

He promised to go upstairs to select the wine I ordered from the menu- anyway back to the shelf at reception and a different bottle poured (with the word Catena on the front) when I told him this was not the correct wine - he argued it was!! It was not. The wine served was a €14 bottle of wine vs the $100 being advertised.

A lady offered this glass and said they recently changed their wine list and subsequently offered the cheap wine free of charge but honestly that was not the point.

I’m so disappointed I did not go to FX Buckleys or Shannan’s - my previously held view of Brookwood is no longer the case.

The wine scam is...

Overall a very nice spot for both a cocktail and a nice steak. (Team diner out)

The "côte de boeuf" was well cooked and came with a wide selection of sauces. We tried them all and I would recommend the pepper sauce. The mash potatoes were perfect and creamy ! The mushrooms were served in a creamy sauce and were lovely The cocktails were all very nice ! Proper cocktail bartender putting serious work in each drink served. Lovely staff ! The girl that served us was very responsive, patient and friendly. She was a very positive contribution to our nice evening.

  • The truffle chips were lovely although it would have been perfect if the sauce was mixed in rather than just sitting on top. (the way it was served meant that the chips on top benefited from the sauce, but the ones below were just normal chips)

I was a little bit disappointed by the crab toast starter that lacked finesse ! The Mac&Cheese were a bit dry. (Probably sited a little bit too long under the grill.. )

As for the wine menu, it has a nice selection of wine with a couple of great Californian bottles. Personally would add a few classics on the menu: why not a coupe of Burgundies for example...

Additionally, we felt the waiters needed a little bit more training on the wine menu.

(Apologies if the English in this review is not perfect, its not my...
