To the Manager.
My wife and I ate in your restaurant last night. We had an outside table and was served by a lady in a grey jumpier and longhair pony tail.
My wife ordered first - a pizza, and then I, changing my mind a couple of times, settling on the wings and gambas (two starters).
20 mins later my wings arrived along with some calamari (which I did not order). This was delivered by a different lady, who apologised and took these away. We said to her at that moment that we’d ordered a pizza as well and to bring both together if possible.
10 mins later my gambas arrived served to us by the lady that took our order. She told us at that point we did not order a pizza. When my wife tried to explain/remind her that she ordered her pizza first and Me then second, the lady said ‘no you didn’t order’.
When my wife, calmly, rationally, nicely took issue with this (quite rightly considering it was this lady that made a mistake) the lady told my wife not to be aggressive and barked at her, WHAT PIZZA DID YOU ORDER…
The order was then re-taken. And the woman sarcastically mumbled sorry and headed off with a nasty attitude on her.
1 hour from original order my wife got her pizza (which incidentally was lovely). She was concerned to eat it, and I can understand that, as the lady seemed to be very angry and really had the fear of what she might do to the food…..
We explained our issue to a very understanding member of staff (male waiter, young, trouser braces) who listened attentively, apologised and then (apparently) spoke to the manager. The manager was too busy (it was busy!) to deal with this then and there, he came back and said, but said it would be dealt with later.
I am not sure what that means.....
We ate up, paid our bill (I can’t believe we were charged!) and left.
I have lived in Dublin for 20 years, and it is one of the worst attitudes I’ve experienced in a restaurant. That she didn’t immediately apologise and fix the problem, as opposed to challenge my wife is totally unacceptable. That she told my wife she was being aggressive beggars belief. It was her that was aggressive. What happened to ‘the customer’s always right’?
I would have contacted you directly, but there's no contact form/email on your website, so I had to communicate this to you this on public forum. I will consider posting same on Tripadvisor...
Read moreAvoid this place if you want fresh food. We decided to dine in hear before going to a show yesterday evening. The food took at least 40 minutes to come out and even then we only got 2 mains leaving my two friends still waiting. When asked when was their food coming out they told us it would be another 4 minutes which was oddly specific. 1 of the lasagne's arrived and then the waiter informed us that it would take another 14 minutes because the MICROVAVE wasn't working correctly and they had to make sure it was hot in the middle, if we wanted a microwavable lasagne we would have bought one in Tesco or Dunnes. At this stage we were in disbelief as to what was being said to us. As we were now late for our show our friends opted to share the one lasagne that came out. This ruined our whole night, we felt the experience and service was atrocious, the food we received was mediocre and the staff were rude. To top it all off we stood up and walked to the register to pay, because we could not get the attention of the staff for the bill. The waiter came rushing over and accused us of trying to walk out without paying, to which I informed him I wasn't leaving without a getting a discount for this horrible experience. He took the lasagne we didn't receive off the bill like he was doing us a favour and a few drinks. His body language was aggressive towards us, waving his hands and pointing at us and his tone of voice was extremely condescending. If we were not in a rush to get to our seats for the show I would have complained further but we decided to pay and leave to which he stormed away from us not even saying goodbye. I will be writing a formal complaint to the management of the restaurant aswell but I think it's important to inform people about this place and the service in here. If you want fresh food and good service...
Read moreHad a lovely dinner here after a matinee in the board gais. I had a burger and chips and my daughter had the hot wings and chips. Both were absolutely delicious! Wings were crispy with a nice traditional (Frank's style) buffalo sauce. The burger was cooked perfectly, juicy and delicious. The chips were so tasty but my only criticism was the portions (of chips) are a bit on the small side. It was €5 for a portion of chips to go with the wings and despite the fact they were tasty there definitely wasn't €5 worth of portion there! You can see in the burger picture the portion size that came with the burger but the seperate paid for portion was the same size. The place itself is funky and fun with a lovely fully covered outdoor seating area that is non smoking so you can sit and enjoy the views smoke free. There is a smoking section also though. There's two quirky little booths outside that my daughter really enjoyed dining in. They'd seat about 4 comfortably and was just an added nice space. Inside seemed to have plenty seating also. The staff were friendly and very helpful. They took time to chat to us and check on us without being on top of us. We finished with a cocktail and a mocktail instead of desert and both were really tasty 😋 There was one individual bathroom that was non gender specific (I think it was also the wheelchair bathroom which was why it was not gendered) and a men's bathroom. It was fresh and clean something I always like to see! Mains between €10-€20 but if you add drinks and / or deserts it's more likely €20-€30+ per person. Oh FYI it's a SHOCKING €2.50 for a pint of squash. A full bottle of the stuff costs less!! Will definitely be going back there the next time I go the board gais, but I'll bring my...
