I had dinner at Holi Indian Restaurant yesterday, and it was honestly one of the most memorable meals I’ve had in Dublin in a long time.
We started with the Prawn Butter Pepper Garlic, which was bursting with flavour — buttery, spicy, and perfectly cooked. The Holi Special Kebab Plate was a standout as well: a generous selection of grilled meats that were juicy, aromatic, and beautifully presented. You could taste the attention to detail in every bite.
For mains, the Sahi Nalli Nihari was absolutely divine. The lamb was slow-cooked to perfection, meltingly tender in a rich, deep gravy that was both comforting and complex. The Mapas Fish Curry was another winner — creamy, with a lovely balance of coconut and spice, and fresh fish that flaked beautifully.
And I can't forget to mention the Mango Lassi — honestly one of the best I’ve ever had. Smooth, refreshing, and just the right amount of sweetness. It complemented the spices in the food perfectly.
A special thank you to Santhosh, who took such great care of us throughout the evening. His warm, friendly service and helpful recommendations really elevated the whole experience.
Service was warm and attentive, the atmosphere relaxed but refined, and the quality of the food was simply outstanding. Holi continues to raise the bar for Indian cuisine in Dublin — and I’ll definitely be returning soon.

Read moreI came to Dublin as a student about 10 months ago and ever since, I’ve been on a quest to find food that truly reminds me of India. While I’ve tried many Indian restaurants across Dublin and even in other cities in Ireland, nothing came close to capturing the authentic taste of home until I discovered Holi Restaurant.
From the very first visit, I felt like I had finally found the flavors I was missing. The food here is incredibly delicious and the closest to what you'd get back in India. Every visit has been a comforting and satisfying experience for my taste buds.
What truly touched me was an experience we had when one of my friends was feeling unwell and didn’t have the appetite for a heavy meal. We asked if it was possible to prepare something light like Daal Khichdi, even though it wasn’t on the menu. To our surprise and delight, the staff happily made it for us and it tasted exactly like the comforting, homestyle khichdi we know from India.
That kind of warmth and hospitality, along with such authentic food, makes Holi more than just a restaurant, it’s a little piece of home in Ireland.
Highly recommend to anyone looking for real Indian food...
