I recently re-visited Le Petit BRETON (for the third time) and was extremely disappointed with the service that was shown to myself and three friends. The previous visit was the visit in which we witnessed the waiter asking the two ladies to leave as there were people waiting on the table - I believe this is posted on another forum!
We all ordered crepes, however one of my friends decided that she wanted something plain & so ordered a baguette with bread & jam. On hearing her order, the waiter (who we think is the owner) appeared to be surprised, actually looked at her quite incredulously as if "just a baguette??". He recommended ordering the continental breakfast, but she declined as she wasn't that hungry and just wanted a plain baguette. After our order was finally accepted, the next part of our experience proceeded with a different waiter appearing back to our party to discuss the finer details of how my friend wanted her baguette served - the complexity of "with or without butter". Both interactions with the waiters left my friend feeling very uncomfortable as she felt they were making a lot of fuss over her order. Our food finally arrived and i have to say the crepes were delicious. I would like to say the remainder of our visit was pleasant however, on receipt of our coffee to the table, the waiter forgot my friend's (baguette loving one!) cappuccino. When my friend asked for her coffee, again the waiter looked at her in disbelief and asked her if she was sure she had ordered it! she replied "yes" and he uttered "Fine, I'll get it for you" & walked away from the table. To top it all off when we looked at the bill, we had been charged €5.95 for a plain baguette with Jam & butter. I definitely will not be returning to Le...
Read moreCons - They will not go an extra mile for the customer. Example: when I spoke to the owner he told me "we don't accept splitting money as it take too much time and very often mistakes." These are things which a restaurant to scale, grow popular and should be able to work it out and keep customer's interest in mind"
I have had an instance when I thought the owner could have been polite and tackled things in a better way. Not saying he was rude maybe didn't know how to put across his own made harsh rules. i spoke to him later and he sounded okay coz it's his place and he wants to run it the way he likes, maybe that's fair but debatable
Pros -It's a nice place with good ambience but small in size. They serve good delicious food atleast from what I ordered. Waiter was polite and served us what we wanted
I will give it 2.5 star because they don't put customer convenience first rather their convenience first. Basic preference of splitting the bill and choosing a form of payment at flexibility doesn't seem to be an option here.
I'd rather go to a place where they are more considerate but what customers really care about. Good luck to them and their...
