One of the highlights of my trip ill never forget. The atmosphere of relaxing on the outdoor stones amongst the locals was certainly a moment of clarity and great time for me. As a Canadian visiting Dublin, Ireland for the very first time, the local students at Trinity College Pavillion Bar were some of the most welcoming people I've ever met. The staff, the vibe was just incredible. The Coors Light on tap tasted even better here than home. It was an absolute pleasure meeting your staff and students during the final exams this past week . I cannot wait to come back to visit Ireland and this beautiful place again. (I was the fella in the beard and glasses sitting on the second to top row all week haha) Thanks again everyone

After an interesting tour of Trinity College we were tempted to stroll over to the other side of the cricket pitch to enjoy a late afternoon drink at this student bar. We are assured that the prices were some of the best in Dublin, but quite frankly I found the beer at Wetherspoons to be a lot cheaper! On the Friday afternoon we were there they were about to close ca. 17:00 for a special event. So, having collected our drinks at the bar (disinterested bar staff) we went outside to the terrace overlooking the cricket pitch and drank in peace. All good.

Never even knew this bar existed till the other day as we had to meet friends there. Nice little spot and great for sitting outside on these rare sunny days. The food was good and the price was very cheap. Indoor and outdoor seating and plastic glasses for sitting down on the grass.

It's not every day that you come across a place as unique and heartwarming as the Pavillion Bar, affectionately known to locals as 'the Pav'. Nestled within the storied grounds of Trinity College, this bar is truly one of Dublin's best kept secrets.

The Pav boasts a surprisingly extensive and reasonably priced selection of drinks, catering both to students seeking respite from academic rigours and visitors eager to imbibe the rich history of the location. From a crisp pint of Guinness to a robust glass of Merlot, the choices are plentiful, and the cheerful staff are always ready to offer a suggestion.

But the real charm of the Pav lies in its convivial atmosphere. There's nothing quite like enjoying a drink while perched on the grass, basking in the sun, and soaking in the gorgeous views of the cricket pitch. Whether you're a fan of the sport or not, the cricket matches provide a tranquil backdrop to idle conversations and laughter-filled reunions. It's a welcome change of pace from the often busy city centre, making the Pav a perfect spot for a relaxed afternoon.

On top of this, the Pav is also a hotspot for events, from live music and DJ nights to various student-led initiatives. These events infuse a youthful energy that's hard to match elsewhere. The mix of international students and local Dubliners creates an incredibly diverse and vibrant crowd, making every visit an exciting experience.

If there is a downside, it's that the place can get quite busy during peak hours, but that's hardly surprising given how much it offers. In fact, the buzz is all part of its charm. If you're looking for an authentic slice of student life or a place to unwind after exploring Trinity, you'd be hard-pressed to find a better place than the Pav.

In summary, the Pavillion Bar is a hidden gem that wonderfully encapsulates the spirit and charm of Dublin. Its unbeatable combination of atmosphere, location, and affordability is a testament to its enduring popularity among students and visitors alike. If you find yourself at Trinity College, a visit to the Pav is a must. It's an experience that is quintessentially Dublin, and one that you won't...

The food was decent, and I had the sandwich and pint combo, but nothing special. A pint of Guinness was €6.50, which feels a bit steep considering it's a student bar. You’d expect prices to be more affordable, especially for students. For comparison, my local pub in the Liberties serves pints for €5.50, and even the nearby Wetherspoons offers better prices. It's definitely more of a "central Dublin" price range than a budget-friendly spot for students.

It’d also be nice if there were discounts for actual Trinity students. You’d be hard-pressed to find lunch on campus for under a tenner. That said, it’s a great place to enjoy in the summer, especially with the outdoor seating. The seating arrangements could be a bit awkward, though, and the noise level from groups of students chatting loudly can be a bit much. Overall, it's not bad, but there are cheaper...
