We visited the Irish Whiskey Museum in early January as a birthday treat for someone who's a big fan of Whiskey. Having visited some of the well known distilleries in Dublin I still didn't know what to expect since the museum appears deceptive from the outside. Located across the road from Trinity College, you walk down a mid-lit path until you reach a set of stairs or a well maintained lift for those of restricted mobility. As our trip was a gift I decided to go for the best tour- Blending. This is done twice a day 4 & 6 and has limited spaces available so I'd recommend booking in advance especially around weekends or public holidays. After climbing the 1st set of curved stairs you arrive at the reception area where you check in & wait for your tour guide and a small bar. You can also spend a bit of time in the shop where you'll find a great range of Irish produced whiskeys in both full and sample size bottles. From there we climbed another set of winding stairs to the start of the tour where we were led through the wide & varied history of Uisce Beatha (Water of Life) where you might also come across a much loved Irish character. After this we were brought into the blending room where we sampled 4 different types of whiskeys & got to blend them to our own personal tastes and bring home whatever was left (ours was accompanied by some tasty chocolate eclairs later that night!). I do recommend getting into this room 1st to ensure you get the best seat (depending on your own needs). Our tour guide was brilliant, she was great at weaving the stories & pulling you into the atmosphere of each timeline. Whilst I'm not a whiskey drink my friend very much enjoyed the blending session & have found an interest in some of the newer distilleries that we plan to visit at some stage. Highly recommended, have fun!

We had a wonderful experience at the Irish Whiskey Museum! Our tour guide Ben was very knowledgeable; all the facts he gave us and stories he told were so interesting and he was also really funny! Our tour was at 2pm on a Sunday and it was a fairly small group of us, and I really liked that. It meant we had plenty of space (as the museum is quite small) and we also got to know a bit about everyone there. I think this tour is suitable for anyone, and donât be discouraged if you donât like whiskey! I am not a big whiskey drinker and neither is my partner, but it was still such a great experience. The whiskey tasting at the end, although great, isnât a large part of the tour, the majority of the time you spend going through different rooms and moving through periods of history (I guess London Dungeons-esq but without the jump scares!). You also learn a lot about how different types of whiskey are made. At the same time though, the tasting portion at the end doesnât feel rushed. Ben took us through the scents / flavours of each whiskey and we got to try 3 different types (4 if you upgrade to the premium ticket). A very reasonable price for a really great tour, I would 100% recommend :)

Amazing distillery with history behind. Great story around Irish whiskey. We took Distillery select tour, this was held with all the other tours, but only at the end we had 4 tastings, and this was the only difference from other tours. We really enjoyed tasting after the tour in the bar. Don't take the last tour because the bar is closing and you won't have enough time to enjoy it. We would recommend to the organizor to have a better microphone with the reproductor for using within distillery because we couldn't hear all what the guid said. Also, tasting was really fast so we haven't enjoyed it. Having only one person telling the story to 3 different groups and still turning around caused we barley hear all around whiskey we were just tasting

My father and I had our very first trip to Ireland, and the Irish Whiskey Museum was something we wanted to do while in Dublin. We scheduled the Irish Whiskey Museum blending tour for the day we arrived and were not disappointed. It was a fun experience, and our tour host/guide Darragh was great at his job. He definitely deserves to be acknowledged for his exuberance and wit. He was very fun to talk with and gave a great tour, history, and overview of the whiskeys you taste and blend. What a great way to start our memorable first trip to Ireland. I definitely recommend this if you have time and enjoy Irish Whiskey. I don't know why I took a picture of the crapper at the Irish Whiskey Museum, but I thought I would add it anyway.

Hands down the best tour we had in Ireland outside of the Kilmainham Gaol tour. This one was the most fun by far as the other was more historical. Donal was fantastic with the type of humor and storytelling we were told was common in Ireland. Witty and on point throughout, great suggestions in the lobby (by pure luck since he was done after our tour and we came back to purchase some whiskey to go) hands down worth the visit. Book in advance to secure a seat as it fills up quickly even on a Thursday night. Not for those easily offended by jokes. If you're looking to attend, don't be a stick in the mud. Cheers!! **my wait time was because we were early and the bar is open on site to help pass the time.

Had a great time and a great experience at the Irish Whiskey museum. Our guide Brian was fantastic and very knowledgeable. Not to mention he was hilarious. We learned a lot about whiskey and its history. We ended up bringing home a couple bottles that we tested because we loved it so much. There is also a little bar there where you can sit and have a dram while you wait for your tour to begin. Or you can have a drink afterwards like we did. My only complaint is it is kid friendly, unfortunately, and there were two toddlers there that were extremely distracting and made the experience a little less enjoyable. So be aware of that. Also I suggest booking tickets online ahead of time since it is popular.
