We had Valentines Day dinner her, it was a nice experience. Lovely location near the main area in the city center but slightly off on a quite street. We had made a reservation prior, and it was very busy, but given the day, it was not a surprise. For starters, we shared the Crostone Nduja, Bieta E Salsiccia, Fontal, which is sourdough with nduja, toscane sausage and cheese. Was lovely. I'm glad we decided to share as would have been a lot for a single person to eat. It was lovely and was the highlight of the maleal for me. For mains, I had the Tagliatelle del Ragu, I would just mark this as average. My partner had a ravioli and also just thought average. Can't complain but want blown away by it either. For desert, I have the Biscotti with Chocolate Sauce, a bit basic. I thought the chocolate sauce could have been of better quality just tasted like melted chocolate you would buy for cooking chocolate in tesco. My partner had the Tiramisu, which he really enjoyed, it was a very large slice. We had a lovely bottle of wine, and they have a fantastic wine selection and look forward to exploring it more. The atmosphere was great in the restaurant on the day. I felt the service was fine but could be greatly improved. Was sometimes hard to hear the staff and then appeared to be in a rush every time them came to the table, the service was very quick between courses. I will give them it was a very busy day. Generally would come back again to explore the menu further and give another go. The food was generally very good value.

They are not welcome people with colors. I’m an Asian boy and I feel I’m not welcome. I was there at 8 o’clock ,the front desk told me the whole night is full, they won’t accept any customers. I told them I can wait , but they asked me to leave . Once I left , there came a couple , I asked them do they have a reservation, they said no . But the front desk gave them the table . Then I found out in the website they still accept reservations, so I reserved the table . So , they do have a lot of tables available, they just don’t want an Asian boy to be in the restaurant… I went back to the restaurant, I asked why this situation happened, I feel there is racist .Then the bald guy asked me to shut up , they said stop talking if you want a table. They even asked “why don’t you show my reservation in the beginning.” They refuse to sorry and being very rude . I feel really humiliated. I left the restaurant. I checked the comments, I found out the front desk they do this to a lot of people . I actually went there before , and some of waiters are really nice to me . The photo is taken when the first time I was there . I hope the owner of restaurant can see this comment. It’s really disappointed, this is the first time I confront racism, and it’s in Dublin, this restaurant.

This is a fabulous, well established authentic Italian Restaurant close to Trinity College. The food is like dining in Italy and the staff are all Italian and so charming, friendly and professional. I sat in the outside dining section because of Government Covid restrictions at the moment on dining indoors. They have always had this outdoor section as part of their dining experience, hence the foliage surrounds, overhead wall heaters and canopies overhead. It's also on the sunny side if the street. I had lunch, a glass of white wine and a latte. Mamma Mia! To die for! I had the Contadina warm salad consisting of succulent Irish chicken marinated in honey, crispy Italian pancetta, chargrilled peppers, tomatoes, olive oil, all on a bed of fresh mixed leaves and a choice of bread on the side. I had two tasty sourdough slices of bread drizzled lightly with olive oil and toasted to perfection. The portion was very generous. Other dishes around me that other diners had looked equally delicious. I highly recommend dining there, the prices are very reasonable and the experience a satisfying delight.

Very Unusually Bad Experience!

I dine out very regularly, possibly 3-5 times a week, and this is the first time in many years I have felt the need to go out of my way to leave a negative review.

The service from the get-go was very alarming, with rude, curt, and dismissive behaviour from the staff. Myself and my colleague felt immediately as though we were not welcome in the establishment.

This was followed by very mediocre service, due to a lack of attention, refusal to make eye contact, very bad communication, and a general feeling as though we were the last thing that mattered that day.

The food was average at best, and that is a very generous statement. It felt as though the ingredients were bought last minute using whatever was conveniently available, to create a dish with very makeshift and crude presentation, with the flavors being basic and uninspiring.

The seemingly selective bad service, the general lack of wanting to be there from the staff, the crazy wait times for the food (1+ hour, while I could see it waiting on the counter at one stage), the general atmosphere, and the lack of taste and quality from the food, left an overall sour taste in my mouth.

One of the worst dining experiences I have had in many years, I would recommend it only to those who wish to have a subpar and unsettling experience. It’s is a shame due to the beautiful decor, the potential of the location, and the reputation the restaurant chain apparently has.

I was forced to eat again afterwards, and asked kindly by my colleague to try and forget the experience, which genuinely made my outlook on the rest of the evening bleak.

I have had some bad experiences before, where I have just got on about my day, but this one was disturbingly unpleasant to the point I need to try and save someone else’s...

ABSOLUTELY AWFUL!!!! I rarely write reviews but I had to for this place to warn others looking to eat here as the previous reviews do not do this place proper justice. I have never been to a place this bad. The hospitality was horrendous. Not only did they not ask what we’d like to drink but they checked on us once. The one time was when we had to ask for the check after sitting there for 20 minutes. As well, while sitting there we noticed that the glasses on the table were filthy to the point that it was questionable whether or not they had actually cleaned them! Also, the food took ages to come out despite having simple orders such as the house pasta and chicken!!!! We ordered the pesto pots as an appetizer and the pesto had on odd taste and an off putting color to it that was unusual. In terms of our main meals we had waited roughly 40 minutes for it to arrive. Upon arrival the chicken was incredibly thin and over cooked. The sauce that it came with looked like it was chicken gravy that’s made from granulates that you can do up at home. The side dish to the chicken was roasted potatoes which were not roasted but lightly cooked. The skins were not crunchy but soft and mushy which was an incredible let down. The house pasta which was a simple sauce of tomato and basil was awful. There was absolutely no flavor and tasted like bland tomato which if fine if it was advertised as such! For the cost of the meals you would have expected better quality but instead we received meals that were incredibly underwhelming and...
