A Cozy, Heartwarming Hideaway

Tucked away in a quiet corner of Dublin, Salt Cellar Coffee is one of the warmest, most inviting cafés I have ever visited.

In a city where sleek, modern cafés are the norm, this place is refreshingly different. The air is filled with a lively energy, yet there is a comforting sense of nostalgia. It’s the kind of place where a conversation with the stranger sitting next to you could naturally unfold, and before you know it, you might leave as friends.

Of course, the coffee is excellent, but the food is just as memorable. I couldn’t help but notice that almost everyone around me was ordering the chicken noodle soup. Curiosity got the best of me, so I decided to try it for myself and I’m so glad I did. One sip, and I instantly understood the hype. The gentle warmth seeped into my heart, and before long, I knew I’d be craving it again and again. It’s the kind of homemade taste that lingers, evoking a quiet sense of nostalgia.

And then, there’s the staff the true soul of this café. Each person welcomes you with a genuine smile, making you feel instantly at home. Their kindness is effortless, their presence comforting.

In an age where cafés often strive for perfection in design and aesthetics, what people truly long for might be something simpler…a place where warmth and human connection take precedence. Salt Cellar Coffee is exactly that —a café filled with heart, where the simple act of being there feels like a...

As regular local to this wonderful establishment, with its unrivalled views of Gold Hill and the Blackmore Vale beyond, the service and friendliness offered within this cafe makes it feel home from home. Also, as a one-off special request, while ill and house-bound, they kindly accepted my call for help by delivering a full English breakfast that enabled me to build my strength...

As our accommodation didn't offer breakfast we came here and we're not disappointed. Had a great meal for a reasonable price in a very cozy space. Loved the toasted sandwiches. The american coffee was exactly how I like it. My wife had the poached eggs with avocado and tea. We can recommend all the above. As an added bonus, the funny little poem on the restroom door really made my day. :-)

Wonderful coffee, eggs and bacon for breakfast here. Perfect spot around the corner from the maternity hospital to go to before visiting hours in the morning. Open at 7am, family run father and daughter, had good chats before I left, will certainly return! Furniture makes you feel like you’re back at home too!
