Galway Arms Inn — Restaurant in Galway

The room was horrifically unclean. There was stains and hand prints all over the walls, and stains on the carpet. The bed sheets were dirty and stained along with the pillows. The shower had mould on the ceiling and the door didn’t close. A full piece of chewing gum was stuck to the curtain beside the bed. The light bulb on the ceiling had no cover/shade and wires were exposed. There was also stains on the ceiling. We arrived back to our room during the day to find a cleaner in the room, where we were never made aware of would be coming and were never given an option to refuse. When he had left the room still wasn’t cleaned, the same dirty stained (blood and dirt) bed sheets were out back on the bed and nothing was cleaned except for the bin bag being changed, same dirty (stained and bleach stained) towels were refolded and put back on the end of the beds. The whole place was unimaginably dirty and I’m sick to my stomach that I paid the bones of €300 for the privilege. The only positive of this place...

Terrible! We were there for mid afternoon dinner on a Sunday. The service was without a smile or showing any interest (despite the fact that we were the only customers for food). There was no children meal so we ordered chicken tenders and chips (adult portions) and a spare plate for the kids. The chicken was very spicy and there was a handful of chips per plate (for 12 euro!!!). I ordered a seafood chowder that arrived as a broth mixed with white sauce and no fish!!! We had a very nice stay on July 14 & 15. Located in the heart of Galway. Walking distance to almost everything. Staff was very polite and friendly. It's more of a bed and breakfast and not a 5 star hotel. We knew that in advance and that's what we were looking for. Rooms were small but had what we needed and it was clean. We were out and about most of the time so it was mostly a clean place to sleep in a great location.
