We arrived to a packed bar with pumping live music so it was safe to say we didn’t expect too much for the food but we were led downstairs to a quaint dining area and were accommodated despite it being close to closing for the restaurant. I was absolutely blown away by the quality of the ingredients and expert cookery, added to that the presentation made it feel as though I was sitting in a masterchef kitchen. I opted for the oysters to start, they were very fresh, had to have been caught that day. Next up was the Seabass & romesco sauce, which was cooked beautifully and was loaded with flavour, by far in a way the best meal I had during my visit. My girlfriend ordered the chicken and the sauce was perfectly rich to tie the whole dish together along with a stunning mash. Towards the end of our meal I couldn’t help but feel the craving for more oysters so I had asked if I could order another plate, despite the kitchen being closed the chefs were more than happy to accommodate and even threw in an extra oyster to boot - a very nice touch. I was totally blown away by the unassuming Quay bar and restaurant. Don’t give it a miss! Thanks to the staff involved, great work!

Gather around and let me tell you the tale about a burger I once ate in Quays Bar in Galway. It was a delicious morsel. Rather unique in that it had a very strong char. The center defied physics and somehow remained juicy and melty. There was a tangy sauce to accompany it, all sandwiched in a delicious bun to die for. I was in shock! 🤯 What culinary wizardry had I unexpectedly encountered on my travels? Definitely an all-time ranked burger on my list. With some coaxing, I was able to convince the wife to go with me again on a second night. Sad to report, the coveted burger was not as well-executed in its encore appearance, but still good. At least one of the cooks knows exactly what they are doing with that burger, so good luck on your night. 🍀 In seriousness the bar and restaurant are excellent. The live music beautifully sets the scene. The food was all very high quality. The service was attentive and they genuinely cared whether you were having a nice time and enjoying the food. A must-stop for the traveler through Galway.

😡 We visited at 15:20 for taking some irish meals. We ordered a salad and two main such as a fish&chips and Burger. When I assessed that quality and quantity, both were enough to enjoy for 2 adults. HOWEVER you can show that score. What's happened? We got the starter almost 8 minutes after ordered, but we were disappointed that left things couldn't come out, even though I took 40 minutes. That's why I contacted staff to inform our situation that please check our orders it might have any problems. Then as a result, we could get our meals at 😡16:10. Are you serious? Because of the staff's fault, we waited steadily while what it happened!! FINALLY, WE FINISHED OUR MEALS AT 16:30. If someone who related here, you need to train them again and again. One of the staff forgot my order and didn't apologize about that, although she missed it. It was really a waste of times I never wanted to get here in my life, throwing my invaluable times.

We really enjoyed visiting this pub and restaurant located in the Latin Quarter of Galway. We walked in for dinner, and had a seat at the bar for a few pints while we listened to live music and waited for a table. It was very busy, but we only waited about 30 minutes. The restaurant is on the lower level where it is less crowded and less noisy, and we were happy about that! The service and food were really good. Prices were reasonable. They have a great selection of beers and whiskeys and they have a full drink menu for those that prefer something different. We will definitely recommend this pub to others and will definitely return the next time we visit Galway.

Very cool bar with live music and a fun vibe. The oysters were extremely fresh and delicious! However, we didn’t have the best experience with the other food. We ordered the steak and the stew but I guess there was a mixup and they made me a burger instead of the stew I asked for. This would have been fine, but the burger was dry and overcooked. The steak was also very dry. Wouldn’t recommend either. The staff were friendly and handled the mixup nicely though. I will also add that there were flies flying around the restaurant. One landed in my Guinness which wasn’t pleasant but I understand that it happens sometimes.
