If you are looking to experience amazing Thai Cuisine in the City of Galway, Ireland. I highly recommend Thai Garden.Upon entering I was made feel very welcome. All the appetizers and Entree tasted amazing! Thai Garden is a must visit if you love Thai Cuisine. The restaurant is very clean and has very clean rest rooms. The staff are all very professional and genuinely care about their customers. It should be noted I am originally from Dublin, Ireland, lived in the United States for over thirty years and served with the United States Marines all over the world. I definitely know a great Thai Restaurant from all my travels and life experiences. You definitely won’t be disappointed. I definitely will return in the near future. Thai Garden rates five stars and more!

Recently dined at Thai Garden and had wonderful food and service--the best part is they have a FULL VEGAN MENU--not just a main dish--but starters, 3 different vegan soups, and an amazing number of main dishes! No wondering if something is vegan, or can they make something vegan--but a full separate menu of great dishes!!!!!! They served a wonderful sorbet for dessert as well! Staff were welcoming, and provided excellent service. We've lived in Galway for over 5 years and not sure how we've missed visiting here before, but will certainly return again soon.

Recommend this place! We ordered a “garden” of appetisers which had bits of every other starters served with seafood soup. The soup was in a serving size of 2 and there was a generous amount of seafood such as mussels, squid, crab stick. We ordered a pad thai with prawns and a plate of stir fried veggie with steamed rice. The rice noodles were amazingly cooked. They were neither too watery nor greasy which I loved it. The assorted veggie stir fried with basil was also delicious and it was not too salty.

Very disappointed with this restaurant and their horrible customer service. My friends and I ate earlier at a seafood restaurant but were not able to find a vegetarian option for someone in our company. We decided to go to Thai Garden Restaurant so she could order a meal and we planned sit with her and order drinks and soup. We ordered a soup and entree for the vegetarian, a beer and soup for my friend, and a beer for me. We were then told that if we didn't all order an entree, we could not eat in their restaurant. I have really never heard this before, in Ireland or anywhere else, and I'm not understanding why a restaurant would turn away paying customers. Given that we needed to get food for our friend, we begrudgingly ordered food for her to take away. The waitress then told us we would have to pay at the bar and had to sit in a waiting away instead of at the table. I would not give this restaurant a single cent after their treatment of us. Customer service is the bread and butter of making profit in any restaurant. I am shocked that they treated paying customers this way, I would never recommend this place to anyone. My friend had to eat her food outside in the cold. Unacceptable and unfriendly behavior.

UPDATE: The waitress did not tell us we could not eat there because of a food and drink license. She told us we all had to order main dishes if we wanted to sit in the restaurant. Inside the front cover of the menu, there is a statement that you must order a main dish to sit in the restaurant due to "cost of linens". Even after I asked if I could just order soup (at which point EVERY member of our table was ordering food), she still said we had to order a main dish. For someone like me who has had a Nissen Fundoplication surgery and can only eat small amounts of food, this is forcing you to order more food than you could possibly eat and is in my opinion discrimination...

We haven't visited the restaurant after the renovation and with the beautiful weather we decided to try it out yesterday. It was great to find out that there is a vegan menu as all 4 of us were vegan. What's confusing is that the price for main meals is all the same €19 no matter what it is or what portion. Three out of 4 dishes were nice and big enough for the high price but one of them was lacking in flavour and was significantly smaller. The atmosphere was the lowest point of the meal as it started with our two children (15 and 16) going to look for the toilet which they said was very unpleasant with a number of staff asking why they want to go to the toilet and if they wanted a table..they were met with stares and looks and questions before being given the code for bathroom. At the table we were approached several times by a lady walking around and just saying "thank you" or asking if we are looked after. When I told her at one of the many visits to our table that we are not entirely satisfied with on of the meals, she just said it's because its "noodle" and it needs soy sauce..hm..not sure what she meant. Only one, of the several staff asking how food was, apologised and was very nice and polite. Even at the time of payment I said same and the lady just noded and that was it. I think the interior looks amazing and food was mostly nice but that definitely was our last visit. We expected all dishes to be of same size and quality for the price and service/atmosphere to be more welcoming...

Not a great dining experience, and left with an empty stomach.

I arrived at 6:45 on Sept 24, right before the dinner rush. We made reservations for 7pm, so we were a little early. Walking in, we realized that Apple Maps directed us towards a similar Dublin location, so we made reservations at the wrong restaurant. Fortunately, they were still able to accommodate us, so long as we were out by 7:45 as there was another table coming in.

We sat, ordered drinks and food, and then began to wait. The drinks were delicious, the vibe was great. But we started to notice that other tables around us started getting their food before us. We waited, waited, waited. Our two servers never really visited our table in that period. Maybe we would've ordered another drink or something, idk, or they would realized our food was taking so long and said something to reassure us. It wasn't until 8:20 that I spoke up and asked for a status on our meals and we had been waiting over an hour. The server went to check on our order only to realize they never had any record of it, and needed us to place our order again. At this point, it was just so late, and we intentionally wanted an early dinner. We declined and asked for our check. Fortunately they comped our drinks, but at that point, it was kind of the least they could do. We left with empty stomachs and disappointment. I was very eager to eat here. I wish the experience didn't...
