The first time we went here in 2016, there was a huge queue, there was 6 of us and we were wondering where we were going to sit, so we could be close together. There was 3 adults over 45 years old, one girl in her early 20's and a 16 year old boy and a young boy 6 years old. The younger children looked around for some seating, while the adults went and ordered, we had no clue what to do, as we couldn't see what was on the counter until it was our turn to order and then the server just said yes and stared at us, we asked how does this work, he said what do you want to eat, we said we don't know really, he said you want in a container, we said not really, he said Burrito and we said yeah that's fine 6 Burritos, he asked what you want in it, we said I don't know, he said rice, we said yeah, he said what else, we said I don't know, he said Beans, we said no beans, he said other salady stuff that was there, we said no, he said so you just want rice, I said no, what goes inside, he said we have pork, chicken or beef, we said I don't know, what is nice, he said, I don't know, we said are they spicy, he said, yes all spicy, we said we have a six year old, what would he like, he said all too spicy, we said which is the less spiciest, he said chicken, I said what is the spiciest he said beef, I said ok how spicy is the pork he said not as spicy as the beef. It was the longest process I have ever been through, it felt like I was in prison ordering. He really could have said at the beginning, we have pork, chicken and beef Burritos, we have a range of topping like..blaa blaa blaa and you can have rice too, otherwise you can get a container of salad with pork, chicken or beef, they are all spicy but beef is the spiciest, then pork then chicken. That would have helped us so much, we just felt we were holding up the queue as he expected us to know what we wanted, it is a small place and with people queuing through the eating area from the counter to the door, it was very cramped and noisy, we couldn't find a place to sit together. The older children were telling us how good it was, the Burritos were ok-ish, very college kid type of food. They should really have a sign on the door saying no over 25 year olds, as the place was flushed with teens, although I am not serious about the sign on the door. It wasn't a pleasant setting for a family for sure. In 2017 our teenage son wanted Burritos again, we got some and went to the Claddagh to eat them, my 7 year old had made some mess in the car as rice poured everywhere, so don't do that, we struggled ourselves not to spray rice everywhere, so we didn't do that again. Since then the two older children have made many orders from there, they gave me a container with salad and cheese and chicken in it, it was hard to eat, so it wasn't. In more recent years 2020 my son although a normally quiet and reserved boy, got on the phone and said what he was given to eat was so disgusting, he actually had to stop playing his computer to phone them, he'd never normally do that, but he said - mom it is disgusting and I am mad because I have nothing to eat now after waiting, the guy gave him a refund instantly, no problem, I wonder did they get many complaints that night, my son was a regular customer of theirs and always ate what the got before, he wasn't happy a happy camper he was a hungry moody camper. He and my daughter have made orders since and say "it's very hit and miss now, that the standard of food has dropped" well they rarely order...

Rating: (4/5) Boojum, a well-known name in Galway's culinary scene, has earned its reputation for serving some of the most delicious Mexican-inspired cuisine (basically mimicking America food giant Chipotle) in the city. On a recent visit, I decided to try their famous burrito bowl, and I must say, I was pleasantly surprised.
Price:(4/5) At just 10 euros, Boojum's burrito bowl is not only flavorful but also affordable, making it a go-to option for budget-conscious diners looking for quality and quantity. It's a meal that won't break the bank, and you get a generous serving for your money.
Food Quality: (5/5) The star of the show, of course, is the burrito bowl itself. The flavor profile is exquisite; the ingredients are fresh and carefully prepared. The combination of seagoned rice, tender protein (I opted for the grilled chicken), a variety of fresh vegetables, and mouthwatering salsas creates a harmonious and satisfying taste explosion. The seasoning and spice level can be customized to your preference, allowing you to tailor your bowl to your desired heat.
Portion Size(4/5) Boojum's portion size is generous and will leave you satisfied. Whether you're hungry after a long day or sharing with a friend, the bowl is substantial enough to fill you up without making you feel overwhelmed.
Ambience(4/5) The dine-in experience at Boojum is pleasant, with a clean and well-maintained dining area. The atmosphere is casual, perfect for a quick lunch or dinner. While it may not be the most extravagant setting, it's comfortable and welcoming.
Service:(4/5) The staff at Boojum are friendly and efficient. You'll receive your order promptly, and they are happy to assist with any special requests or dietary preferences.
In conclusion, Boojum's Mexican burrito bowl is a great choice for those seeking delicious Mexican cuisine on a budget. The flavors are authentic, the portion sizes are satisfying, and the service is efficient. While the ambiance may not be top-tier fine dining, it's a fantastic spot for a casual meal. If you're in Dublin and craving a flavorful Mexican dish that won't break the bank, Boojum is...
Read moreFood, standards, portions gone to absolute garbage. I started eating here when it first opened. One burrito or bowl was sufficient to be filled/satisfied, however you literally have to be watching the person make your food to ensure adequate amounts. I have ordered this as a takeaway on countless occasions, the flavour is always amazing but the portions are now lazy and skimpy! I would not call what I have received in my last order a portion, but rations! When I contacted for complaint, the excuse was the portions have changed or can change, a very poor excuse for a busy chain. I paid a lot of money for mostly rice and hardly no meat filling. What I received prob had 5 euro or less than filling but the order was 30E plus in cost. I will now go to the other burrito place across town from now on, even if it meant I couldn’t order to door but you probably can. I had a gorgeous fresh and HOT burrito there that was properly filled reminded me of what Boojum used to be! As someone who has chosen to return to Boojum even after former portion discrepancy, this last order absolutely took the cake. The same thing happened to my friend this week when she ordered it as delivery, she warned me about her portion and how terrible her experience, I should have listened. What you are sending out to customers via delivery service is as important as what you make in store FYI customers are talking/sharing! I wish I used a size comparison before I cut it open to see what was actually filled inside but I would say a large hot dog wouldn’t be much smaller than what I received. The filling was very poor hardly any meat and missing...
