An underwhelming meal for the price. Green Acres badge without the execution.
Slow service with long wait times. At one point asked a server who dropped us steak knives could we order drinks with them, they told us to wait a sec and disappeared for about 10 minutes before returning.
We ordered the chroizo scotch egg and chimichuri prawns as a starter. The prawns were excellent but the scotch egg lacked seasoning and the egg itself was rubbery and overcooked, the dijon sauce masked it but not enough to make it anything to write home about.
We ordered 2 ribeye steaks medium rare. One with escallop potatoes, a different side mentioned on the menu, and one with chips as per the menu. Both came medium temped and over roast potatoes. We asked one staff member were the chips on the way who said 'no, thats how they come, if you want chips they're extra' despite the menu saying the steak came with chips and the lady who took the order confirming chips with my order. Steak itself was well seasoned but the 'blue cheese melt' was almost non existent.
At €140 for 2 people with a couple or glasses or wine, some beer and a mandatory 10% service charge, this place isn't worth it, in comparison to the excellent choice there is in...
Read moreMyself and my partner visited for a nice meal and a bottle of wine. Initially all was fine, it was very quiet but we were placed right beside the toilet door which seemed odd but maybe it was to do with reservations.
Our food was decent, starters were a bit overpriced for what they were especially the patatas bravas but the steaks were quite nice. The wine could have done with being more chilled which I didn't expect when they sell a lot of wines.
The main issue of the night was that of service, as I said it wasn't that busy. But we found ourselves left alone to the extent of us not really having a chance to order another drink. Then it was similar when trying to get their attention for the bill. There seemed to be more than enough staff on to accommodate the number of people at the restaurant but looking at some of the other reviews it seems to be common. Highlighted by the fact they charge a mandatory service charge. All in all it was fine but there are plenty of places in Wexford that have...
Read moreThe service was terrible waited for 40 mins before anyone came to take a drink order so sitting drinking water which was on the table and later charged for ,then we asked for a pre starter of bread and dips because we were starving but that never came till our starters came and the drinks so we'd been sitting waiting for a drink for nearly an HR ,the food was very tasty but the cold of the restaurant and the service just made it a miserable experience we were 3 hrs there and only got 2 courses and 3 drinks we ordered a cappuccino twice and never received it the only time they were quick on coming back to our table was when we asked for the bill ,very efficient taking money and the 10% service charge which u now understand why they add that on because the tips would be very scarce if it wasn't on the bill I'd suggest taking less tables and putting more effort in to training staff because the food is very good but I wouldn't recommend it to anyone because of the...
