Extremely Rude and Racist !!!!
My recent experience at Indique restaurant in Kilkenny was incredibly disappointing. As someone who has lived in Dublin for over a decade and has traveled extensively, I can confidently say that Indique's customer service was the worst I've encountered, and it was marred by apparent racism.
My family and I, along with friends, had eagerly anticipated a pleasant meal after a long day of exploring Kilkenny. We had come to Indique with high hopes of enjoying some delicious Indian cuisine, intending to place a takeaway order for a group of 10. However, from the moment my family including my 3 year old boy entered, we were met with a cold and unwelcoming atmosphere.
Despite selecting an unreserved table, it took only five minutes for a staff member to approach us, and they did so with a hostile demeanor, instructing us to move as they claimed other guests were arriving. However, no other customers actually arrived during our stay.
Undeterred, we proceeded to place our order, but were met with further disrespect and indifference. When we inquired about the wait time, we were told it would be 40-45 minutes. We requested to wait inside due to our tired toddler and offered to order starters and drinks while we waited, with the assurance that we would vacate the table if other customers arrived. However, the staff remained uncooperative and clearly discriminatory towards us, solely based on our Indian heritage.
A quick look at Google reviews reveals similar negative experiences from fellow Indians, citing racism and poor service, while reviews from other nationalities are positive. This discrimination is unacceptable. Such a shame on Indian heritage and Irish...
Read morePopped in here on Thursday 6th of August 2020 on the off chance that they might have a table for two. We had been here before about a year ago and the food was excellent. We were delighted to be told that they did have a table. After giving contact details and having our temperatures checked we were shown to our table. We shared a sheek kebab for starter and it was really lovely and came with a plate dressed with salad and sauce for the person sharing. Our mains were excellent also and very authentic. The seating and tables were laid out to allow for social distancing which was excellent, we were also made aware from the start that the maximum time would be 90 minutes which was more than generous. The staff and service were excellent. The prices are very reasonable and the portions are large. We will definitely...
Read moreLess amount of menu options to buy. We went on a weekend and it was buzzing with customers. Would recommend to reserve as there are less Indian restaurants in Kilkenny. We had both veg and non veg dishes and the taste was good. Was skeptical of having dinner here after reading multiple mixed reviews about this place. But i can say that it was a good experience and they have improved on the services. I read about hostess/ waiters not being attentive about Indian customers but surprisingly i was asked couple of times about the food and i felt good. Our bill was decent and not too much expensive. Only drawback is less menu options to choose with other restaurants offering many...
