Rabbit Hole — Restaurant in Jerusalem

My father made a reservation for our family here, not realizing that it isn’t exactly the place he wanted to have family dinner at. After we arrived and realized we needed to go elsewhere, the manager on call made sure to let us know that he was going to charge us for not sitting there. He claimed that he had saved our spots on the bar for two hours prior (a lie, we got there and people were sitting on the bar in the spots he indicated) and that we had to pay for choosing not to stay there. The sum of my knowledge about gin prior to this evening was that Beefeater seemed reasonably good to me and that it paired famously well with tonic. Tonight, I learned that there is in fact a whole world of gin connoisseurs. This small venue in downtown Jerusalem stocks more than 90 (!) of them. The bar staff are knowledgable and friendly and happy to initiate gin newbies into the conoisseurship. They also have a few nibbles on hand. Really great bar man who knew his stuff, but overall the place felt a bit run down and their proposition is really confusing. They have a long list of cocktails, but it doesn’t say what any of them contain on the menu. Even after he explained it still wasn’t very clear so it’s a bit of a lottery picking something. It says they do classics cocktails at a premium which is fine, but everything we asked for they didn’t have the ingredients for so just ended up having a g&t.
