If you haven't been in a fairytale lately, now you have a chance - newly opened FANTASTIC bar/restaurant/lounge/getaway place. [I could refer to it by any of those names as well as by rabbit hole, greenhouse, Alice's place and some others. For clarity sake in my review I'll refer to it as a restaurant.] Fantastic offers you uniquely designed interior which transfers you far away from your daily reality, creatively crafted cocktails, fine dishes menu, professional and efficiently-built service. It all starts when you enter the reception of Port & Blue hotel and turn left toward the restaurant. You greeted by the hostess and wait in the library by the fireplace till one of the waters leads you to your table in the Ball room. As you move along the way you pass various spaces (leave that to your personal observations) which differ in lighting, sound, atmosphere. The cocktail bar deserves a separate story. I'll leave it to my next visit which will be focus primarily on it. Entering the dining area we immediately gave credit to it design, ambience, thoughtfully placed tables (unlike in many Israeli restaurants which attempt to fill the place to its maximum, and beyond, capacity, Fantastic offers enough personal space to enjoy intimate, yet public surroundings), waiters dressed like in Wonderland, and many little details the designers did not miss. The food was very good. From Mushroom Tea to Poached Drum fish to Scallops - everything arrived in a distinct colorful way with blending tastes of its components. Goose breast and Pork belly were prepared very well. And we couldn't leave without indulging on Chocolate Ganache balanced with Crepe Suzette. Read moreI made a reservation a month in advance for a table inside the resturant for a long waited girls night. We were all looking forward to finally visit this restaurant because we heard praising reviews about the place, but when we arrived (and after we waited for about 20 minutes for our table to be ready), we were notified that they had a mixup in their system and they don't have a table inside and offered us to sit in their patio, in 33 clseios, with a small fan (we wanted to sit inside mainly for the ac)! We desided to sit in the patio and make the best of the situation but then we saw the menu which was completely different from the the menu on their website and didn't offer any vegan or even vegetarian options and they even didn't have some of the cocktails that was on the current Manu! When we asked the staff they said that it was a new manu that they used for a first time! I must say that the cocktail and vegan dessert that I ordered were pretty tasty but very overprised and it was unbearble to sit outside in this heat so after an hour or so we left very disappointed. Also I want to mantion that when we complained to the staff nobody offered us any compensation even in a form of a free drink or something. I don't recomend to visit...
Read moreits a good thing this place is still at the start because they have alot to fix. lets stsrt with the pros the menu is versatile planty of cocktails and drinks. as for the food menu they have variety of dishes and vegane. atmosphere is nice, not what u expect of a restaurant but rather from a bar. decoration is really what makes this place unique.
now for the bad stuff which surely is planty. food seems to be undercooked at all the entrees we had. too noisy as said before the atmosphere is bar like. service is good but every 10min they checked if we were fine which was annoying. also the sync between the table waiter and the food waiter was terrible which cost us loose a dish. cocktails, some are good some really bad. entrees seems to be unique and interesting on the menu but on the plate eventually u receive a pretty ordinary dish. deserts are a big nono!. we had for starter the bread and fried greens nothing really special there, no taste and undercooked. the burger wallimgton dough was under cooked, also the burger by itself was meeh. for desert we had the almond creme with pears which tasted more like pears with white...
