Without doubt the worst meal my husband and I have ever had in Italy. We have lived in Puglia for fifteen years and been to many restaurants throughout Italy, so feel amply justified in writing this review. Before we were able to steer them away from the tourist area, some English friends booked a table here for last Saturday. The table was in the far corner of a large, characterless and almost empty room, rather like an shed/annexe with windows, with three of us, part of a group of seven, having a dismal, uninterrupted view of the toilets corridor. We two asked for no meat/fish in our anti pasti, that left us with a few bits of cheese and some dried up (unidentifiable) something or other (not eaten) . Followed this with a prima of gnocchi which was rock hard and like uncooked pasta in a watery tomato? salsa. Totally inedible. The watery fave just about stayed on the plate. Desserts? some arrived, some didn't, I had half of another guests cake and wish I had not bothered, did not seem home made and was very boring. Made do with a packet of taralli biscuits and glad when it was time to leave. If this is what they serve up to tourists visiting the town, it is more than likely they will go away thinking Puglian food is not good. When, in fact, in other restaurants it is excellent. We did not complain at the time about the awful meal as we were guests...
Read moreI haven’t eaten the food yet because I left the restaurant. Why? The service is TERRIBLE. We waited more than 15 minutes and asked twiced to order, but we received the same answer “just a moment.” The moment I walked in the restaurant they didn’t acknowledged us when the second couple came in are greeted immediately. The waiter who brought us the menu has a really bad attitude towards us. I had a map on the table (since we were tourists) and he shoved it off to put the glasses on the table. The way they looked at us I also realised we are not welcomed. No comments on the foods, hope you guys will read my comments and change the way you treat your customers for the benefits of your...
Read moreFantastic place, amazing food. Warm atmosphere, but we were impressed by the quality of the food. So many delicious antipasti including fave e cicorie (a delicious puree of broad beans with special green veggies, tipical apulian dish) , the orecchie pasta was handmade with local ciliegino tomato, something over the moon! We had a celiac with us and they made everything gluten free, from the antipasti till the end. Then we had a huge plate of mixed meat which was delicious and tasty too. Even the local wine was at the top level. Can't ask for more, and we'll definitely be back as soon as we are around the spectacular town of Alberobello. Super...
