Looking for flavors that are invigorating?! This place is a diamond. When I thought I have tried all Sardinian traditional food, this place is just mind blowing. May I say the chef and wife (restaurant is family-owned with michelin star experience) are geniuses with their flavor profile, texture and wow the dessert. You must try !! Chocolate SEADAS!!
From the time we sat down. The foodie adventure began. Traditional complimentary bread has a hint of new flavors- hint of salt and something citrus.
Firsts The monkfish carpaccio: with a limoncello sauce was light ans refreshing.
Seconds The Mallureddu chef's special: had the traditional ear pasta, red sauce, freshly ground beef, with sheep's cheese that just melts in your mouth.
The squid ink pasta: with langostine carpaccio was phenomenal as it was made with real squid ink that just gave a unique salt flavor along with the acid of the carpaccio.
Mains Porchetta specialty : was given its name for a reason. I usually do not like pork as it's pungent favor does not agree with my palette. However, when in Sardinia, it is a staple. The chef added his twist of mirta with salt flavor. The meat fell off the bone and the flavors just blended together beautifully with the celery radish salad it came with.
Pistachio crusted Salmon with asparagus pureé: Was the star of the meal as it was cooked in a particular way that I've only experienced in Japan.
Dessert
Maracuya (passion fruit) cheesecake: Yummy balance with tart, cream, and light sweetness.
Chocolate SEADAS: Another Star of the meal. I was surprised with the bright blend of chocolate, white chocolate, light cream, and honey limoncello topping.

Read moreFirst of all I love the automated booking reply. One thing I’ve found in Alghero is some restaurants don’t get back to you regarding a booking request until an hour or even closer to the desired booking time which cuts it very thin. As soon as I requested my table I got a reply saying we were accepted. This was an excellent service.
The ambiance, decor and hospitality in the restaurant were all top drawer. We immediately felt welcomed and the decor was simple and beautiful.
For starters I ordered the ricotta and local sausage stuffed courgette flowers which was lightly covered in a crispy and delicate tempura batter. The filling was very flavourful and as a dish the combinations were exceptional. My wife got the arancini which was beautifully cooked. The rice inside was lovely and moist and the saffron was notable but not overpowering. The outside was lovely and crispy.
For the main I got the yellow tomato and local sausage pasta dish which was the nicest pasta dish I have had here in Alghero and I’ve had some absolutely breathtaking past dishes here. The sauce was buttery and flavoursome with that unmistakable grey tomato taste. The clusters of local sausage were a flavour bomb with each mouthful. My wife had the suckling pig with a fennel and cherry tomato salad. The pork was corked to perfection. The skin was so crispy and the meat fell off the bone. The fennel and tomato salad was very fresh but fennel isn’t everyone’s cup of tea.
Four out digestive we had a glorious limoncello. I can’t recommend this restaurant enough. If you’re in Alghero you must experience this...

L’incontro is the kind of restaurant you want to experience. Family owned & a trustworthy menu.
We had the pleasure to eat almost everything in their menu during our stay. From the tuna tartare to the lamb chops & pasta, everything was delicious and gourmet with sizable portions. The chef is excelent in everything he cooks & for that you have a great service to top it up.
Ilenia is very helpful, and will go out of her way to make your experience the most enjoyable, if you have something you’d like to ask I encourage you to do it, this way you’ll find out for yourself how easy and prompt they are to make sure you’ll have a great experience at their restaurant.
Personally I can’t wait to get back and re-visit this place, it’s one of those which you are likely to save for every time you come back to Alghero, at least for me it made the list for “must” while I’m here.
