I'm a polite person so I find it difficult to complain about food to staff, especially when I don't how its meant to look. All I can say is, aside from the crusts, my pizza was more like a soggy pancake. I order the Buffalo Mozzarella and Tomato Pizza, it came swimming in water. I understand that buffalo has a lot of water content but this was hard to eat, another 15 second in the oven might'vee saved it but really I think it was just cooked in a rush. I wouldn't write a review about this on its own, sure the food was not very nice at all, but my bug bear was being charged €4 per person as a cover fee. Considering the pizzas were €12-€15 i thought it was very cheeky, also doesnt seem like the staff see any of that so it also discourages tipping (not that this deserved it). I struggle to understand what could warrant €4 per person as we recieved no bread or water, just a table cloth. As a chef i would call this an overhead, its not something you should be adding onto the bill in my opinion. Finally, poor music choices playing a constant loop of top 40 pop which detracts fork he atmosphere. The staff were very polite and the...
Read moreTwo colleagues and I traveled from the US to Ancona, Italy for a university exchange and stayed at a nearby hotel. We stumbled upon Bar Caffe' Giuliani our first day in Ancona and grabbed a few sandwiches for lunch.
I saw some Fiat chocolate near the register that I wanted to bring for a few friends at home and went back later that day to purchase them. The store associates and management were so friendly! They spoke English and befriended us during our stay in Ancona.
During the week, we made it a point to stop by at least once a day. We had lunch, dinner, aperitivo, and afternoon tea at Bar Caffe' Giuliani and enjoyed it more and more every time.
Don't let the outside deceive you! There is a full bar, coffee bar, deli, bakery, and small shop inside and it is always packed! Great store and even better associates.
If you are visiting Ancona, you will enjoy this atmosphere. I sure am going to...
