Quick: delicious seafood restaurant well deserving of their Michelin guide recommendation. Shrimp risotto was amazing!
Made a reservation around 1pm for the same day at 7:30pm on a weekend. It wasn’t too busy. The atmosphere of the restaurant was very nice. Good spacing between the tables, quiet environment, and lights on table.
The food was delicious, some hit or miss. The shrimp cream risotto was really amazing. Probably a top 3 dish (if not #1) I’ve had in Italy. It has a delicious cream flavor with chunks of shrimp. The rice was cooked perfectly. It was truly a fantastic dish. The lamb chops (I got without pistachios) was also great. The red wine reduction tasted amazing with great sweet flavors. Although, it was a bit almost too sweet for me. The lamb was cooked nicely but it was cooked to well done and I found the meat to be a bit on the harder side to chew. If they cooked this to a mid-rare, it would’ve been a perfect dish. The pesto dish was not bad but also wasn’t amazing to me. It was an interesting lemony flavor that was unique but I thought it was only okay and my fiancée didn’t like it at all. It also said it would come with almonds and pine nuts but the dish did not have those included. Both desserts were amazing and I thought the lemon sponge cake was out of this world. Grilled veggies (eggplant and zucchini) was good but nothing special.
Service was pretty good. There were times where I tired to flag someone down but they were too busy. There is only one waiter for the entire dining room and one person who brings things out. So at times, it certainly got busy. We also got brought out the wrong dish that was supposed to go to another table. We didn’t realize and ate some of it. They brought it back to the kitchen and brought out a new one quite quickly for the table it was supposed to go to. So I just hope they had a backup one and it wasn’t the one we ate from.
So was it worth it? Yes but I would not get the pesto dish if we went again. It might be a hit for you, but we didn’t like it. I would get the risotto again as it...
Read moreUnfortunately our experience was not good. We didn't do the 50 Euro per person degustation, as the waiter was vague on what it included and we didn't want to over eat. So we had a Starter of trio of pesce, which was good, then a house made ravioli with fish inside in a fish ragu with tomatoes. Well the 6 ravioli were bland and the ragu was fish stock with some tomatoes on top. I had a main of tuna which was ok but served plain with a drizzle of balsamic vinegar. My wife had John Dory, 6 tiny slithers of fish and a mangled fish head on the plate. Waiter advises the head is on the plate so you can see it's Dory. Really! The portionws so small the head was required to make the plate look more full! It was dry and overcooked. We sent it back after he argued that it's dry as it was cooked in Lemon... Sorry, 20 Euro piece of fish should not be dry. Once we got the bill he had reduced the price of the Dory from 20 to 14, this seems to be the way tourists are treated. The locals eating all seem to have a great time with the waiter, but they all did the degustation. It took 2 hours for the 3 courses and was a...
Read moreThis is a quaint restaurant in Atrani, with a very Italian menu. The night we went, there was a tour group there, but it looked like a high end tour group as they were having some sort of tasting menu!
We didn't go for the tasting menu (50 euros) but ordered a la carte. Their seafood selection appetiser was pretty interesting, but portion was a bit small for 18 euros. My fish ravioli was something quite interesting - a mixture of white fish and ricotta cheese inside. At 12 euros it was good value for money.
My wife had the special "caramotte" local prawns (20 euros). It was like 8 big king prawns. Very fresh and well prepared! Her side dish of grilled zucchini (4 euros) was very mediocre, just a few slices of zucchini, albeit very delicious.
We also had the special regional lemon cake for dessert, which was good.
Overall, having eaten in many Amalfi Coast restaurants on our trip, this was probably not my top 3 as although the food was good, it was slightly on the pricey side (forgot to add - also a 2 euro cover charge) with slightly...
