In mezzo alle centinaia di locali, ristoranti e paninoteche sorte dal nulla come esche per turisti da spennare a seguito della riqualificazione di bari vecchia come una cartolina un po' kitsch, si trova questo ristorantino che risplende per la sua elegante e ricercata semplicità. All' inizio non riuscivo a dare un senso al nome del ristorante, ma una volta dentro, la vista di una magnifica vecchia cassaforte adibita a vetrina mi ha parzialmente chiarito le idee, anche se mi sarei aspettato un più corretto "caveau". Al netto di peregrine discettazioni da grammarnazi, il locale appare ben tenuto, pulito e ben organizzato. Non tantissimi posti a sedere ma molto comodi. Ci hanno chiesto il greenpass appena entrati e di questo sono contento. Accomodati in una sala in cui il blu la fa da padrone abbiamo atteso (pochissimo) che il cameriere facesse il suo dovere coccolati da un piacevole sottofondo jazz ad un volume piacevole compatibile con la conversazione. Una lista di vini pregevole. Il cameriere ci ha aggiornato sui piatti del giorno. 4 o 5 per portata, il che mi ha tranquillizzato, poiché ho il terrore delle liste chilometriche di certi ristoranti. Il tutto è stato all'altezza delle aspettative. Ingredienti freschi e di primissima qualità. Porzioni abbondanti. Qui il coppapasta è considerato una bestemmia, che Dio li benedica. Mangiare qui è stato commovente. Il conto una vera sorpresa, credevo avrei speso molto di più, e sarebbe anche giustificato. Il servizio è ottimo. I servizi sono curati e ben puliti. Se volete mangiar bene in Bari vecchia questo è il posto giusto. Unica nota stonata era una presa elettrica scoperta, troppo vicina ad uno dei tavoli sulla parete blu con tutte le applique. Non riuscivo a distogliere lo sguardo da quel neo. Per il resto è un ottimo ristorante. Se non ci fossero di mezzo quasi 1000 km ci tornerei...

Whow what can I say, we have been traveling in Europe for the past five weeks and the meal we have just had was beyond amazing. The grilled sea bass was cooked to perfection and presented beautifully. The calamari and prawns were the best I’ve had since arriving in Italy.
