La Grotta — Restaurant in Bellagio

Because Lake Como is so touristy, it's hard to find good food. This is probably the second-best place we’ve tried so far. We ordered the Caprese appetizer, which was really good, and the Greek salad, which was also great. We also had a pizza that was good, but I was a bit disappointed that it didn’t have fresh mushrooms. They seemed to be canned or pre-soaked, definitely not fresh. Other than that, the food was enjoyable.

One issue we had was with the timing of the dishes. We asked for our appetizer to come out first, but that turned out to be a mistake. Everyone else (literally!) in the restaurant got their food before us, and we were the last ones to receive our main course, which was frustrating. However, our waiter was very nice, and the food was good, so I would probably come back. Next time, I wouldn’t ask for the appetizer first, especially since we arrived right at 7:30 PM along with a bunch of other people and watched every table get their entree before us when we were...

We came here twice during our 4 night stay in Bellagio, including for my birthday dinner. Came highly recommended by our apartment host, and it did not disappoint. It was our favourite restaurant in Bellagio overall ♥️

Absolutely loved the pasta dishes and fish (did not have pizza here, so cannot verify what some other reviews mentioned). I personally recommend their sphaghetti alle vongole, perfect al dente. The tiramisu was absolutely divine!!! We got complimentary wine on arrival and superb service throughout, including limocello birthday shots 😜

The entire wait staff and chef were all friendly and patient at our lacklustre Italian (don't worry they had menus with English, French and German translations).

Found an Ant on a plate of Tagliata of 26eur. And then i had to look at my wife eat the pizza, and she had to look at me eat. Because they had to prepare another one since an insect was on the plate moving. Asked for little butter for the bread...3eur for few butter, when a pizza margerita is 7.50eur. After telling the waiter that i dont want the butter because i only wanted little, waiter was arrogant. They were busy so i give him that, but his attititude was so stressfull and arrogant. At least the food was good. My wife really liked the pizza, and the tagliata was cooked properly (and without ants this time) after all that hassle, they did not offer anything on the house.
