Da Maro — Restaurant in Bologna

This restaurant lies a bit away from the touristic center of Bologna and serves Sicilian dishes. The waitress was very friendly and spoke good English. I really love the antipasti our waitress suggested to us. The fried zucchini flowers were excellent and the sardines were also lovely.

As a main course I ordered the octopus, which was really good. Of course we enjoyed a bottle of lovely Sicilian wine with our meal. After my main course I had still room for dessert: a lovely crema catalana was the perfect ending to a very good meal. Too bad the restaurant was not busy at all...

And these are everywhere - you’ve probably walked past them without noticing ! Da Maro is one of these, Sicilian and seafood centric, it’s a bit out of the way but we’ll worth the 10 minute walk. Wow the food was amazing. The waitress was very helpful explaining the menu in English. It is a traditional Sicilian seafood restaurant. Beautiful fresh ingredients and very affordable wine - we had the house red. We chose to share a main of fried seafood as a starter between the 2 of us and it was fantastic.
