We were a little underwhelmed by the quality of the food. The duck that we ordered had an aftertaste that would suggest that it was frozen and microwaved. The tortellini broth had an unpleasant odour, not suggesting that it was spoiled, but rather that it did not fit well into the overall balance of the dish, especially when not served particularly hot. The other tortellini dish that we ordered (in parmigiano sauce) was quite enjoyable and was the culinary highlight of the night. We also liked the friendly staff and the suggested wine (Sangiovese). Overall, however, Il Piatto Rotto is not a place I would recommend considering our experience, especially keeping in mind that there are so many good options nearby at a similar price point.

Response to the restaurant: well, of course we left a tip. As I mentioned, the staff was polite and attentive, so there was no reason not to tip them. As for the “traditional” point - well, we tried the very same dish at another restaurant a couple of days later, and the bouillon did not have this smell, which, by the way, is the reason why this review was five days in the making, as we actually did have something to compare to. In general, I would suggest that the management take constructive criticism as a point of improvement, rather than taking personal offence, as clearly is...

One of our worst dining experiences in Italy. the food was not very appealing and one in our company started eating his meal to discover that the chicken in his ceasar salad was raw. the chicken was cut but despite that the chef had not noticed that it was raw ?? He got a new one but it took them 40 mins to make a new salad, unbelievable! Also, one in the company did not get his potatoes that he had ordered for the meat so he ate only a steak. despite that, the potatoes were still on the receipt. When we described our experience and that we did not intend to pay for the salad and the potatoes, the staff were unpleasant and incomprehensible. The head waiter got furious and started throwing receipts towards me and called us ugly things. Very disrespectful! the restaurant fee was also sky high, the same was true for the menu in general. not...

In general the place is very-very good and for sure recommended for visiting. In details: food - everything what I’ve tried was very tasty and good served. Wine - choice is quite good, but variety “by glass” should be more extended for a place called “wine bar” :) Please add Franciacorta and let people know that Italy is not only a country of Prosecco in the big world of sparkling wine ;) Atmosphere - is really nice especially inside the restaurant: good design, pleasant music (not always relaxing, but in most cases , yes, relaxing ;) Sometimes there are too much noise from restaurant staff, but this is something what is easy to fix ;). Food serving - is very good, the only drawback that plates sometimes are chipped :) Service is very friendly and quick :) thanks for hospitality. For me it was a great pleasure to enjoy a good food and...
