This is the pizza from Naples that everyone talks about! Our Airbnb hosts are from Naples and graciously took us here so we could get a taste of "real" pizza! They said without hesitation that one pizza was good for one person...well the pizzas were maassiivveee, my wife and I could barely eat half of ours..which was actually a blessing in disguise because they were fantastic for breakfast.
We got the Margherita with double cheese. And then a vesuvius which was on special, it has some nice yellow and red tomatoes on it. Both were delicious.
Both pizzas had extremely thin dough but it was tasty, and a great crust. When you first cut the pizza then the dough does look like it's not cooked or something..but on the underside of it then it clearly is cooked, that was unique. It didn't taste uncooked though.
Eating it was not an easy task...it's so thin that you have to like cut it in sections and then roll it up and eat it. I imagine there's YouTube tutorials out there about how to eat them haha, it really is that different.
I had a red draft beer that was really nice too, my wife had a blonde beer which was great too. I don't remember the names tho.
At the end we somehow found room for a dessert called Baba or something. It's a cake thing that has rum in it and is served super cold! But it's SO refreshing, and unique. I was hesitant to try to fit it, but I'm really glad we had it and I would recommend anyone to get it if they can. Us 4 split 1 and it was maybe like 2 or 3 bites each that way.
Prices were good too. For 4 pizzas and 1 dessert and 3 beers and a water it was like 65eu.
We were warned that the lines can be insane, so we were taken there earlier before the lines were crazy and we walked right in and sat. But I would definitely go back and wait if needed,...
Read moreIf there weren't a normal job of the pizza backer. I would give 1 star. We were there on Friday night an it was very busy. Usually then Italian waiter are performing bad. But this was the worst I've ever experienced. We waited very long to be recognised. And then it took very long time to get even a bottle of water. It's kind of okay for me, it was very crowded and they are not that professional. I got up for paying and went back to my girlfriend and her friend. We were about to leave then one of the waiter came and asked if I want a limoncello. Yeah why not, the girls also were asked. So we got three limoncello, I thought at least they realised how long we waited. We were making jokes all the time and the end he said I should pay the limoncelli by cash. I thought its joke. But when we wanted to leave, the cashier ask for the 3 limoncelli. I said I already paid 3 minutes ago. The waiter saw me as well in which universe do you have two bills in less than 5 minutes. They forced me to pay but I didn't do it. Than they said they get the police, I laughed and said get them. But this was of course a bluff!!! Such a behaviour I did not see my whole life. The pizza is okay but nothing special. I would never go there, especially...
Read morePretty good. Neapolitan pizza isn’t really my thing. They have a fried pizza which I really wanna try tho. Not only Neapolitan is quite overrated but generally Italian pizza. There’s a little pizza place on the city centre called two towers and a bunch of Italians recommended that and said they’re from Napoli... haha who cares they’re from Napoli? The famous pizza which has in fact Italian origin is not a traditional dish at all anyway... why would anybody want to make and eat a dish as modern as pizza in its most traditional way anyway... it seems counterproductive to me... pizza casa beats this and the two towers. Sorry Italians, it’s the truth. But the traditional Italian cuisine is fantastic... not the pizza. Last thing I want on my pizza is some boiled potato and rosemary with no sauce. If you also look at the entire history of pizza you realize that the first documented dishes that resembles pizza was made by achaemenids in Iran, going to Italy because it’s associated with “traditional pizza” is almost as silly as going to Iran because technically the first documents of pizza are from there... even tho you’d be surprised by how much better the average pizza in Iran is than in...
