Read moreLooks like a delightful place but I think they’ve become too popular. Got to the front of the queue by the counter (it’s not super clear how this place works but to the best of our ability it seemed get at the counter then sit) and were told it would be a while if we wanted to sit but we could take away. So we opted for takeaway. Then were told it couldn’t be for coffee as there was a queue at the barista who was still fulfilling orders, perfectly acceptable. So we opted for croissants only. Then we were told to join the queue where we seemingly pointed to nowhere and they served the people standing right behind us in this “queue.” I believe that the staff here meant well and that they are likely just overwhelmed by the flow of people to a popular place. But the thing is, Pappare, you need to do better. You’re a trendy cafe in Bologna and I bet your coffee and pastries are awesome. People looked like they were having a good time. We were willing to wait, then we willing to just have a pastry, but we didn’t under your queuing advice and it left us feeling a bit silly. As we decided to leave we found another English speaking tourist confused about how to find a table and asking what instructions we were given. I’m not asking for English, just point and point clearly and I’ll stand and wait with my money but don’t mess us around. Two stars because the place was honestly charming. However ended up going to Terzi cafe just a short walk away and had a truly single origin phenomenal coffee and fantastic clear and...

Chaos when we arrived, no staff in sight to ask where we should sit, so we grabbed one of the seats near the barista , there were plenty, just had to ignore the endless piles of dirty crockery on all the tables. There was a lengthy queue so I joined to order coffees and one pastry. The cashier was very annoyed that I came to order at the counter and chose s seat. Turns out we entered through the front entrance which was not the entrance and on the side in the back was another entrance in an alley/portico where there was sometimes a hostess. Confusing, I offered to leave our seats cancel the coffee and speak with the hostess and apologised for my obviously huge offense. She insisted to serve us this time repeatedly express her annoyance. Ordered flat white and an espresso. Flat white was a latte, espresso average. Pastry was dry. Waited 20 mins for the order our fault for just sitting down I am more Ryan aware. Hostess argued with the cashier in this time. Both food and coffees sat around at length before being taken to tables,...
