Chafbius Thai Restaurant — Restaurant in Cagliari

Although the food was delicious (but small portions) I have to warn you! It was one of the two most horrible restaurant experiences in my whole life. I even needed some time to calm down before writing this review. It really destroyed our whole evening and we were talking about it for days, cause we just couldn’t believe what happened.

In a nutshell: TWO TIMES A SELLER, ONE DEFINITELY KNOWN TO THE RESTAURANT WORKERS (I SAW THEM GREETING WITH A FIST BUMP) TRIED TO SELL THEIR CHEAP GOODS TO ALL THE GUESTS, CAUSING OBVIOUS DISCOMFORT. EVEN A DOG BEGAN TO BARK AT A SELLER. AFTER WE FRIENDLY TOLD „NO“ TWICE, THE SELLER BEGAN BLINDING US WITH A FLASHLIGHT FOR CHILDREN THAT MADE LOUD NOISES. THE OWNER (? the „older“ man at least seemed like the owner) DIDN’T WANT TO TAKE RESPONSIBILITY AFTER WE ASKED WHAT WAS GOING ON. Our waiter wasn’t hearing us out when ordering, so we couldn’t even finish our order. The restaurant was pretty empty at that time, so we couldn’t understand his rush. Essendo una gran patita di cucina peruviana da decenni, ho provato questo street food( non può essere considerato un ristorante) consigliato da un amico. Abbiamo preso un burrito, un aji de gallina, una empanada e una bottiglia da 500 ml di acqua al costo di 17 euro e 30. Molti piatti sono precucinati e stanno in una vetrina, dove a dire, sembrano molto più consistenti. Posto che la cucina peruviana è conosciuta per essere ricca e abbondante e abbastanza difficile anche da digerire, sono rimasta un po' delusa dalle porzioni delle pietanze. Sono andata a cercarmi le foto di altri avventori e ho notato che sino a poco tempo fa le porzioni erano visibilmente più abbondanti. Ogni pietanza costa 6 euro e 90. Il costo è assolutamente esagerato per la quantità. Il burrito constava di una piadina dalla consistenza bagnata, arrotolata alla meno peggio e fatta visibilmente di fretta, di mezzo jalapeño a fette, una quantità abnorme di mais e fagioli e qualche pezzo di pollo. Servito quasi freddo come anche l'aji de gallina. Non è assolutamente comparabile né il burrito né l'aji a ciò che ho sempre consumato in altri ristoranti simili. Buona l'empanada, pagata 2 euro e 50, anche quella di dimensioni abbastanza ridotte. Il servizio è a conduzione praticamente familiare. Eravamo in due e la pietanza del mio amico è arrivata almeno 20 minuti dopo la mia, mentre vedevamo che continuavano a rimpinguare costantemente il tavolo di alcuni ragazzi thailandesi affianco nonostante alcuni di loro fossero arrivati dopo di noi. Ci siamo rimasti davvero molto male. Menomale che la titolare, dopo che abbiamo chiesto se si fosse dimenticata della nostra ordinazione, si è scusata. Alla fine il sapore dei piatti è buono e i cibi sono freschi. Ma per quasi 20 euro di costo, purtroppo non ripeterò questa esperienza. Consiglio vivamente di assumere una persona che si occupi solo della clientela e di abbondare un po' di più con le pietanze. Ripeto: per 6 euro e 90 a capa da uno street food ci si aspetta...

Just an addition to my review as they’ve moved into big premises just across the road . Same truly brilliant fresh food. New place is beautiful and spacious. They’re able to cater for more people with their truly delightful food and service .

Amazing ! So happy to find this place .. True taste of Thailand , we both had Laap Moo which was top notch. Also a papaya salad and rice. Will be retuning to try the soups and noodles. Small authentic family run place, husband and wife are super lovely chatty and hospitable. Both speak English as well As Italian and Thai. Thai food goes so well With the Sardinian climate..
