MAVERICK CAFÈ — Restaurant in Cagliari

We ordered two Aperol Spritz and they were served with olives and chips. Later, we ordered another Aperol, which came with no snacks at all. We asked whether snacks should be included, and they brought us some chips (we asked because they say exactly that)

Shortly after, a new table sat down and their Aperol was served with a full platter of canapés, including charcuterie. We politely asked again about the snacks, showing a photo from a previous review (without pointing at any table in particular). We were told that those snacks are only served after 5:30 PM, which was clearly untrue — yet they said they would arrange something for us.

What we received was a basic platter with bread, tomato, lettuce and cheese — no charcuterie at all — and only because we asked..

I don’t usually leave reviews, but we really disliked how customers were treated differently. We don’t mind paying — as long as everyone gets the same quality of service.

To top it off, we were charged a €0.60 service fee per drink. If it were per bill, we’d understand — but per drink? That was a first for us.

0 stelle non si possono dare?! Il b&b dove alloggiavamo ha la convenzione con questo bar per la colazione. Alla prima mattina alla domanda (ad Alessandro che credo sia il proprietario o il gestore) cosa fosse compreso la risposta fu vaga "colazione all'italiana". Chiesi di essere più specifico e la risposta fu "eh colazione all'italiana è la colazione all'italiana, poi se è cambiata non lo so!". Insistendo chiesi si vabbè ma cosa comprende? "Solo dolce". Dopo aver ordinato cappuccino e cornetto mi disse che se volevo mi poteva fare anche un toast, ma non mi era chiaro se lo dovevo pagare a parte, se mi stava facendo un favore o era compreso dato che mi aveva appena detto "solo dolce".... poi invece scoprii che era compreso nella colazione. Miserabili, rispondono in maniera vaga per risparmiare 1€ di toast.

Secondo giorno pioveva, ci sediamo dentro e un cameriere pulisce il divanetto con la pezza del banco che come si sa è perennemente inzuppata. Chiedo al ragazzo con gli occhiali che era dietro il bancone se potevo avere un tovagliolo per asciugare e mi risponde "si un momento". Riconsegna la stessa pezza al ragazzo che aveva pulito il posto a sedere 1 attimo prima che la ripassa sul divanetto per la seconda volta. Io gli dico "se continui a passare la pezza bagnata, non si asciugarà mai" mi volto di nuovo verso il ragazzo con gli occhiali dietro al bancone e gli chiedo un tovagliolo per poter asciugare e lui molto scorbutico e cafone mi risponde "eh ma io non spreco un tovagliolo per asciugare il divano". Miserabili per la seconda volta!

Terzo giorno ho cambiato bar e la colazione me la sono andata a pagare da un'altra parte nonostante da loro...

My family went for breakfast here and what an awful experience. Our waiter was absolutely hopeless, we ordered clearly as we always do , he then proceeded to bring out the wrong breakfast , and two extra coffees which we hadn’t ordered. Service was very slow . The bill arrived and they charged us for all the wrong items we had sent back. They got aggressive when we questioned the bill. So unprofessional and thieves basically.
