There are actually two restaurants at this location. My à la carte lunch at "Fork" was thoughtful and delicious, and in my view on a level with nearby restaurants "Da Marino al St. Remy" and "I Sarti del Gusto" (and better than at "Luigi Pomata", which I found to be good but a little fussy). I returned to "Dal Corsaro" for the 11+1 course tasting menu (7 and 9 course menus also available) accompanied by a selection of complementary wines. I can only describe it as a culinary adventure around Sardinia, delivered/presented to me by extremely polite and friendly staff. There were courses I liked ... and some I absolutely loved (pork liver, beef tartare, shredded cuttlefish)! Expensive, but a must for anyone staying in Cagliari and looking to taste the very best that the city has to offer. An...

Where the disappointment lay was in the flavours presented to us. Setting aside a fantastic dessert, the flavours were simply lacklustre across the board. Almost nothing jumped out, and no dish left us wishing for more.
We were left puzzled by the restaurants Michelan star, and so are prepared to concede that perhaps we didn't get the restaurant on a great night. Still, at €115 per person (that's without the recommended wine pairing) we could not help but feel bitterly disappointed and wishing we had taken that money and had several nice...
Read moreI didn't expect too much coming here. During most of our Italy trips we enjoyed the local, basic cuisine most. The fine dining mostly paled in comparison. But this was completely different! The chef offered a fixed menu only (choice between nr of courses and wine tasting). The service was elegant and flawless. The wines selected were exclusively Sardinian and marvellous. (Not one remark, like angels pissing on your tongue). The courses were magnificent. What stood out was the taste pallets. Very hard to describe and sometimes totally unexpected (the beef tartare with the Asian leaf on top gave me goosebumps). An absolute delight and worth 2 Michelin...
