An overall charming experience. This place is like going back in time. The only dining option is a fixed menu for €35 per person, whether you go at lunch or dinner.
The fixed menu removes any pressure for people who have a hard time choosing (like me 😅) or who suffer from FOMO. It varies a bit based on what fish they get that day, but we had: mixed seafood antipasti, fregula with chrevette, and as the last course sea bass and fried calamari. All this was accompanied by water, wine, bread, and some shots of mirto to cap it off.
All the seafood was super fresh. Any criticisms of the food were minor and very subjective: a bit more salt here, a bit less breading there. I’d definitely recommend it for anyone who likes seafood.
The restaurant is a dark windowless room whose theme can best be described as “soccer and sea,” and which feels highly authentic compared to the newer more modern restaurants in Cagliari.
The owner and waiter were both very nice, with the owner coming to the table after each course to ask how everything was. How a restaurant should be!
Definitely reserve. We stopped by on a Saturday night to reserve for...
Read moreGiven the amount of great reviews I can only guess that I was there on a bad day. There were four of us. Three of us are professionals in the food industry from 3 countries. We really liked the atmosphere. We appreciated the concept of having no menu but getting what was fresh for the day. Having said that...if you are only preparing such a limited menu it should be great. It was not. The wine was oxidized (old). The prawn, octopus were well overcooked. There was virtually no difference in the spicing between two of the dishes. I could not cut the octopus with the butter knife they gave me, There was so much salt in the tomatoes that it was inedible. When we alerted the server there was no apology or attempt to resolve the issues...only a look of contempt. Adding to that, when we asked that part of the meal not be served to a member of our party it was not....but we were all charged full price. I do not recommend. I am not a complainer. I have many wonderful reviews of restaurants...
Read moreExtremely disappointing experience especially for a restaurant recommended by Michelin
We came at 22:00 and were told « come in 30min, it should be fine »...we came back at 22:40...waited an additional 1 hour standing in the entrance, with no one paying attention to us, suggesting a drink or a water. At 23:45, a waiter told us « there is your table »...we had to ask where and he pointed us the table at the back of the room...where we headed on our own.
Seated...dishes started to arrive without anyone speaking to us or explaining what was going on...it was a set menu of many dishes and we were not even that hungry so it was a massive waste of food! No one had told us nothing about the Set Menu... Basically no one cared about us. After 40min they started switching off the lights to make us understand they were closing.
The food was really not up to what we were expecting apart from the fish which was excellent. The rest was not really fine.
Would...
