Trattoria da Serafino — Restaurant in Cagliari

We were looking for a parking space and parked the car in the beginning of via Roma and entered the Marina quarter from the side of the parliament building this time. We were greeted very nicely, not annoying like selling the tables while you are walking etc. No very politely! It was already 2200 so pretty late but gosh we were so happy to see this restaurant; we had a menu of 20,- and trust me we visit here in cagliari twice per year for long period of time, since my family in law are living here.. so we thought we knew all restaurants. But for 20,-, starter, a huge and greatly cooked (and juicy) beefsteak, for yhat money snd that great service!!!?? Wow! Restaurant has huge umbrellas, and now with covid all tables have enough distance, not like other restaurants that think that 50cm is 100 cm to say it like that:) highly recommend this restaurant! It’s a cosy Italian trattoria with great food and very friendly service. The prices are reasonable. There is a lot of variety of sea food. We went there a few times during our stay, had the chance to try different dishes each time. We enjoyed the octopus salad, culurgionis(both fried and boiled versions), seafood rice, grilled cuttlefish, sea bream, mussels with garlic, fried shrimps. All were very delicious. From the deserts list, I would recommend the “Sebadas” which is a specialty of Sardinia. It’s made of a fried semolina dough, filled with cheese and sweetened by the honey on the top. We were not happy with our experience at this restaurant. There was a mix--up in our order. We ordered one "secondo" but received another. When we called attention to it, we were rebuffed. No apology; no effort to make it right; no taking responsibility at all. On the way out as I relayed our experience to the the proprietor one of the waiters jumped in to defend himself. He made the point that we had made a cut into the incorrect dish--true--and that is why he would not take it back. Draw your own conclusions about eating here and where your meal landed before it reached you.
