DO NOT GO IN- BAR STAFF LOCKED US IN WHEN WE CANCELLED DRINK ORDER — bar staff locked the door on is at around 20:30 when my husband and I decided that, having asked for our drinks politely over 30 minutes, we would take our custom elsewhere. On our way out, I told the bar staff we wouldn’t need the drinks that had taken the above time; their flopr waitress grabbed me and shoved me from the door. There were a number of young families and the bar band in the place thankfully as witnesses, all of whom looked frankly stunned. Once I reached the locked door and tried to open it three times, the bar staff in a flurry insisted that the door was aways locked for safety and that we needed to sit down. Having walked into this bar without ANY buzzing-in, etc and having been, at this stage, illegally detained in a bar contrary to European Union Law— I made this known loudly— the door wasn’t locked normally, this place is...

I found there was a lack of customer service. I walked in and was asked if I needed a table, but I said I'd order and drink at the bar. Stood there waiting for a good 15 mins and never got asked if I'd like to order or if I needed anything. The barman walked across to our side, still not engaging in any way and carried on, (very slowly) making a drink. When I asked if they were serving at the bar he said yes...very disinterested and not engaging at all. I went on to ask then how I could get a drink, and again just said, I needed a receipt first...not explaining where to get it from. I just felt so unwanted, as if my presence was insulting him. I was standing there for a while.. the place was empty. There was no way he didn't see me. Yet nobody really cared to be welcoming or friendly in any way. Wouldn't waste my money for a place like that. Shame... that's not what a pub...

Ieri sera sono stata al James Joyce pub dopo tanti anni. Devo dire che abbiamo ricevuto un servizio PESSIMO non solo il nostro tavolo ma anche altri 3 tavoli accanto a noi. Per iniziare, l'accoglienza iniziale lascia già molto perplessi..nonostante ci fossero 4 tavoli disponibili (e non prenotati) abbiamo aspettato almeno 20 minuti prima di sederci. Dopo di ciò, abbiamo ordinato, ed il locale era per metà vuoto quindi non è che ci fosse quella situazione di panico tale da far aspettare il cliente un'ora solo per gli antipasti (patatine super fritte spacciate per "fresche con la buccia") dopo qualche minuto (dopo 1he e mezza di attesa) sono arrivati i panini vegetariani che avevamo ordinato...Minuto di silenzio...non conditi senza olio/sale/pepe quindi potete immaginare quanto siano gustose le patate bollite cavolo ed una verdura verde (non identificata) simile agli spinaci ma di colore marrone che ho volentieri messo da parte perché puzzava ..tanto fresca non mi è sembrata!!! Ed io, essendo vegetariana sono ben abituata a mangiare le verdure. La cameriera che ci ha servito non è stata maleducata ma un'altra cameriera che ha servito il povero tavolo accanto a noi, ha avuto pure il coraggio di redarguire in modo estremamente maleducato la cliente (una ragazza che aspettava la sua birra da svariati minuti pur essendo visibile sul bancone nessuno dei camerieri si è interessato). Queste vuole essere una critica costruttiva: assumete cameriere/i in grado di servire e trattare con i clienti!!! Non ho avuto un servizio così pessimo credo mai nella mia vita ed io , ho pure servito ai tavoli quindi so bene cosa significhi ciò, inoltre ho vissuto molti anni all'estero e pur viaggiando parecchio non mi sono mai trovata di fronte una totale di mancanza di rispetto nei confronti del cliente!!!...
