New Caffè Europeo — Restaurant in Catania

If there was a possibility of zero stars I would have given it to this scam of a cafè. Explanation: I ordered antipasti vari, which means mixed snacks. In the normal cafes you get a very good mix of different snacks in good quantity. Here we got 15 slices of mortadella, one slice of cheese and one tiny bag of taraluci (little dry cookies, not more than 40gr.) We payed 15€. Altogether it was not more than 200 gr. Our mistake was to trust them packing it up to go for us and we only realized by the weight of the package, few steps away, that something is not right. We returned to complain only to hear from the guy who worked there that there is nothing wrong with it. He absolutely didn't care. Since we wasted the 15€ already, we just left it on the counter. I would stay away from this place, I am shocked they are still in business as the matter of fact, seeing all the other reviews here. Unless you want to be scammed, very calmly lied to your face and waste your money go...

I would give negative stars if possible. Avoid this sandwich place at all costs!! The man sold us a tuna sandwich even though we asked for a caprese because he needed to get rid of the sandwich. The tuna tasted spoiled and we brought the sandwich back as we clearly stated we didn't want tuna.He then first tried to scrap the tuna off the sandwich. At this point, even he felt this was unacceptable, he gave us a small bread roll as replacement. We later got food poisoning from the sandwich. He also over charged us. Even though the menu clearly stated the price, he added extra to the price of each item - this was not a cover charge as we ordered our food to go. A truly terrible experience different than all the other welcoming, honest Sicilian places we had been to on the last two weeks. Please avoid for both health and safety and...

Wished I'd seen the reviews before l sat down. Whole heartedly l would agree it's a rip off. The lasagne was like heated cat food. Watery, cold in places and the pasta sheets were like glue. Wished l'd taken photographs. This with one can of zero coke plus coperto came to €28. My feed back / comments were ignored. Disgraceful and shame on you for presenting such awful food. You have let Catania down and seeing the waitress tighten the screws on the chairs doesn't instill confidence in your facility at all. No wonder there weren't...
