I have nothing but good things to say about this restaurant. The staff are wonderfully warm and welcoming. We visited this restaurant three times during the month and assumed that due to how busy it was, we would not be recognised, we expected to simply blend in. However, we decided to go for dinner here on our last evening in Catania and could not have been happier, we were welcomed back and recognised by staff who made our final evening nothing but memorable. From the elaborate menu I dined on the Fresh Pasta with Creamy Pistachio sauce - absolutely exquisite! While my partner had a variety of pasta and fish dishes all of which he found delicious. The views along this Main Street are exceptional, you can even see mount Etna in the distance, making the experience all the more surreal and magical. Putting it simply, I would highly recommend that you pop in to this lovely spot, if not for a meal, then a simple refreshing beverage. And don’t fear, if your Sicilian/Italian is a little rusty, these wonderful staff can help you through English. Thanks...
Read moreA bad experience. This place is geared to fleece tourists. It certainly isn't geared to offer service, value, hygiene or honesty. Think of the worst place you can imagine that serves food and we promise you, it will beat this dreadful place hands down.
We were grossly overcharged for food we could not eat because it was so appalling. We were not offered cutlery or even plates for one the antipasti. Then we waited nearly two hours for the inedible main course to turn up. We were the only people in the restaurant the whole time.
The waiter who attended to us (I cannot call it service) stood there pawing sweat from his nose with his bare hand while he placed a selection of budget supermarket cheese and stuff on the table, with, as stated, no plates or cutlery, no bread, no nothing.
Avoid this place at all costs, for the cost is extortionate and the experience...
Read moreI thought this place seemed decent at first but found out they were just overcharging the tourists. After a glass of wine and a pasta that was too al dente (felt like I was chewing for hours), I asked for the bill. The waiter asked if I would like some amaro, which is local to the region so I said sure. (Every other restaurant I have been to in Italy offered me a small digestif for free.) Then he asked if I wanted a dessert. I said no but he convinced me the cannoli was great. It was not. Come time for the bill and the cannoli was 6 euros and the amaro was 4 euros. I knew the dessert would be included but didn’t expect them to charge me for the digestif. Together, those were a waste of 10 euros. I...
