Friendly Lady at Reception, but unfortunately, our Room, wasn't very clean, under the Bed was Dusty with an old Sock under it. The Aircon was ineffective as it was covered in dust and kept us awake all Night as it was so Noisy. The Television was out of the arc too. The Pillows were Dirty, with no protectors, same with the Matteress. The Shower had, had it's day, was dirty and wouldn't drain properly, along with a Toilet that didn't flush and dirt on the Walls, which looked like Feaces. As for Breakfast, we almost couldn't get a seat as the other Guests had arrived at the same time, they'd also run out of Ceramic Cups of all things and there wasn't a lot of choice really, and we felt quite uncomfortable when we eventually sat down. I'm not asking for everything to be perfect, but this Hotel could at least try.

Location is great and that's about it Think Italian faulty towers Rooms could've been really nice, nice layout but lacked any cleaning fresh bedsheets and towels that's it dust balls under bed dusty table picture fell down while we stayed there Plastic plates for the breakfast not much choice to be honest with the selection of food Safe in the wardrobe but no key available for them No fridge just a cupboard where it once sat ended up putting out bottles of water in front of the ac 😂 Have seen other reviews mentioning mosquito pit and I can confirm never been bitten so much Shame really could've been a really good place looked like it was once a few yrs ago

Memorable stay. In a bad way... The hotel is poorly maintained: no water (due to malfunction), loud and ineffective AC, cockroaches, and broken fixtures. The breakfast was unappetizing, skipped it.. Left after one night. Hotel has No Refund Policy, that they use as an excuse not to refund you if you change your mind on staying there, for obvious reasons. Booking.com pictures are misleading. For a better experience, book a B&B Hotels nearby on C.so Sicilia for just 10-15 euros extra.

We booked a 5 days 4 nights long trip to Santuzza Hotel Catania. It was marked as a 3 star hotel on the travel agency site where we booked it, in reality it's only two, so you have to expect simplicity if you reserve a hotel room here. The hotel itself is in the very center of Catania, which was great. Everything was within minutes of walk, and we had a beautiful balcony view of the Etna. We had to take a bus from the airport, but other than that everything is in walking distance. The rooms and the building were very authentic. The rooms had tile floors and even the ceiling was very pretty (besides the cracks but that did not bother me). We didn't get any extras: like slippers, shower gel (only 2 small packs) etc, but we did manage everything. The temperature of the room can be adjusted with an AC. The beds and the bathroom were clean. The receptionists were kind and helpful with any kind of questions. You do receive breakfast every day, but do not expect anything special - nor authentic italian. Initially we did not even have plates, only napkins to eat on, and all the drinks were self-served in plastic cups. We also didn't have a refrigerator in the room, so do not prepare to stash food there. My only real problem with the service was the tourist tax, which is mandatory to pay, and was promised to only expect 2-3 euros. We had to pay 16 euros instead, which would have been the price of a hearty meal otherwise. All in all I advise you to book a room here only if you don't want to spend much time in the hotel room...
