Sicilia in Bocca — Restaurant in Catania

Wouldn't recommend to a friend. Don't let them trick you with the bill!

Our AirBnB host recommended the restaurant, and even spoke to the owner when we arrived for dinner. We ordered mussels, which turned out to be the best we'd ever had. 1 order for 2 people was a large appetizer. This was followed by swordfish ravioli, which was really ricotta ravioli with a bit of swordfish in the sauce (but it was good). House wine and a bottle of sparkling water rounded out the meal.

We didn't order a fish dish, but the waiter brought it and indicated it was a sample on the house. It was generic white fish, steamed, with a splash of not very nice olive oil and some lemon juice. We didn't finish it.

When the bill came, we found that this not very nice fish that we didn't order was 26 Euros, more than double the rest of the bill.

Can't help but wonder whether our AirBnB host gets a kick back for every customer he...

We had dinner here on our first night in Catania. All the fish we ordered was super fresh, done on point and very tasty. The waiters were friendly and there to explain the fish and all the dishes in their offer. Out of all the appetizers we were in love with the Sicilian filled sarde - super happy the waiter suggested these to us. Of main dishes we ordered the swordfish- filled rolls and the oven breaded baked one. To end in sweet we ordered a tiramisu that was a nice fresh end to the dinner. The waiter brought in on the house a caponata (really good) and the amaretti/cantucci with their local grappa. Definitely...

Its bad! We ordered 2 suggested dishes, waited for 45 minutes in a pretty empty restaurant and received BAD FOOD. First, my pasta was overcooked, can you believe? Overcooked in Italy! And the was very surprised that i can recognize overcooked pasta, I didnt wanted to wait for another 40 minutes, so they simply charged for pasta that i didnt eat. My wife ordered risotto - and now for the grand finale - risotto was made with regular rice and with no parmigiana cheese! It was simple rice porridge with some seashells, no risotto rice, no parmigiana cheese. We paid and left to not come...
