Big hit of our stay! Beside the fact that the location is just magical, with the best view of the square just on the bottom of the cathedral giving us a majestic and dazzling angle of the Duomo! The terrace is so charming and warm, taking you completely in a wonderful universe! And if the location and framework are that good, the cuisine brings it to another level! Each dish will be a true gustatory revelation. And let’s finish with the best: the staff! A warm welcome, only smiling faces getting you the best!

My friend absolutely wanted pasta alla carbonara and even though it was not on the menue they were really happy to cook it for her! The waiters will always have a special attention making you feel the most important guess of the restaurant. I forgot my credit card at the counter desk, and was looked for until the Marina to be handed back my card with a big generous smile! Thank you again for this kindness!

Marilena was the reason we actually sat down in front of the Duomo, as we weren't that hungry and were only looking for a small dinner. She's such a lovely and funny woman, impossible to resist. Thanks for pulling us in. In the end we ordered a swordfish caponata, which was from a different planet, seafood spaghetti and fettuccine with shrimp and pistachios. The main courses were both really, though not the best we had in Sicily. My wife could only manage to eat the seafood out of her pasta since due to lack of tummy space, but I managed my fettuccine with pure will power. The only odd thing (for Italy) was that no bread was offered - I am sure we would have got some if we had asked, but still... Of course the location is top notch and you have to be prepared to dine with an audience, sitting on the Duomo stairs. Tomorrow, we will have...

After failing to get into a few restaurants I. The old town in Cefalu we found our way through Google reviews to Ostario at the foot of the steps at the Duomo

As we there approximately 8pm we had about a 15 minute wait, which was reasonable for a Sunday night

Once seated and menus and aqua was acquired, the hard decisions were to be made from the menu

Predominantly seafood, it was a wonderful selection to choose from.

The pasta delicious, the risotto was amazing, the tuna carpaccio fantastic

The wine topped the aqua a constant

The service was fabulous, even some language lessons and a steady line of comedy was happening

Overall a great night out, enjoyed by o e and all.
