Hi, we received a confirmation for reservation under the name Mariana a few minutes ago.
However, I want to express my deep disappointment with both the experience at your venue and the behavior of the person welcoming guests. About 15 minutes ago, before we made our reservation online, we decided to try and enter the restaurant on foot. We arrived directly at your location, and the gentleman at the entrance informed us that there were no available tables until 21:30. This was quite surprising, as it was visibly clear—even from a distance—that the restaurant was only about 40% occupied. It seems highly unrealistic that it would be fully booked by 21:30. As a result we left the place. While walking to another restaurant we decided to try making a reservation online (which felt a bit ridiculous considering we had just been turned away at the entrance. But then out of the blue in turned out that there was a free table available at 20:30, so we booked it. We followed by texting the restaurant and they confirmed our reservation. We did this because we thought it might be a system error or something similar.
All of this happened between 20:00 and 20:30. Given the short time frame, it seems unlikely that a large number of guests vacated their tables. Moreover, the online reservation system showed quite a few free tables.
Having said that this leads me to believe there were only two possible reasons for refusing to seat us: either we were judged based on appearance, or the restaurant is not operating at full capacity. Since our reservation was confirmed through your system, the latter explanation doesn’t hold.
With that in mind, I must say that your approach was deeply disappointing and, frankly, unacceptable. This experience will not be forgotten.
P.s. the food looked amazing though and we were genuinely looking forward to dining at your restaurant. however , you have to be mindful when turning away regular guests - your actions...
Read moreIf you're looking to find the true heart of Italian dining in Como, wander away from the main thoroughfare and down a quiet side street until you find Nodi. Walking in feels like being let in on a wonderful secret. The atmosphere is immediately intimate and welcoming, with the main dining room boasting an ancient, barrel-vaulted limestone ceiling that transports you to a rustic cantina.
Our culinary journey began with a few appetizers, most notably the Salumi Di Mare—a brilliant platter of cured fish that offered a bright, salty taste of the sea. But it was the signature olive oil, intensely green and peppery, that signaled we were in for something special.
The main courses were spectacular. We had a massive 1.5kg Pan of Mussels, which arrived steaming and fragrant, and a sublime dish of Cacio e Pepe Scrigini, made heavenly by the addition of sweet, raw red shrimp that melted in the mouth. Every plate that left the kitchen, from the Navigates's Caesar (a vibrant salmon tartare) to the classic Spaghetti with Clams, was a testament to their passion for fresh, high-quality ingredients. For desert, we shared the Tiramisu and Lemon Custard.
What truly tied the experience together was the impeccable service. The team at Nodi moves with a quiet confidence, orchestrating the evening perfectly without ever being intrusive. Nodi isn't just dinner; it's the kind of authentic, unforgettable experience you hope to find in Italy. Do...
Read moreWe dined as a group of 7 visiting Como for the weekend. We booked ahead of time which was very easy on the website.
We were really looking forward to the food based on reviews but we were left feeling underwhelmed. The food was average and lots of the dishes lacked any flavour such as the fried selection.
The pepper prawns were very good though and I'd reccomend these.
The service was slow, perhaps they were understaffed. The restaurant itself was very cold and we all had to keep our jackets on. We did ask for the air conditioning to be turned off which we were told had been done but it in fact hadn't as the cold air was still flowing through and unfortunately our table was right beneath the air con vent.
I didnt have any wine but my friends drank a sauvignon blanc and they were not impressed with the offerings.
Overall, just a...
