DO NOT GO HERE IF YOU WANT AUTHENTIC ITALIAN AND NO HIDDEN INGREDIENTS.
After reading all the reviews we thought we would be in for a treat… well, firstly the waiters are very pushy for you to get your order out, our one actually finished my sentence for me and guided my meal, then turned to my partner and said “yes now what do you want” in a forceful way. I Ordered the special at the time which was an Octopus Penne Pasta and my partner ordered a plain cheese pizza as she has a nut allergy and is cautious. (No where on the menu does it have an allergy list)
After waiting 45 minutes our food arrived and the waiter just dropped the plates on our table and walked off not caring. My partner started feeling her throat was closing up and mouth going tingly after having a couple slices of pizza. I went in to the restaurant and asked if the plain cheese pizza has any nuts in it for the small chance that it would And the waiter said “well yes the chef puts pesto in it”… (pesto was NOT listed on the menu for the cheese pizza) i asked him to bring out a glass of water for her immediately as this could have become severely dangerous really quick.
The waiter then came out without the glass of water and gave a poor apology saying it’s been a busy day when half of the restaurant was empty during peak hour dinner. My partner then asked for the glass of water and the waiter said he’ll bring it out… after 10 minutes we got up and I went to pay, the waiter was just inside on his phone. I went to a grocery store and got her a water myself as it was clearly too much of an ask…. and luckily my partner was okay.
Moral of the story is, their whole vibe was arrogant, non caring and could not care less about their customers. Also the pasta was hard and no flavour to it, was clearly microwaved which was a huge let down. Not...
Read moreWalking around Como on Italys Republics day was definitely difficult since most places were closed.
However we saw Il Farcito’s reviews and we were curious to check it out, but honestly it was nothing short of okay.
We walked in there were seated pretty quickly and we ordered the Tuna salad, Seafood Pasta, Bresaola, Gnocchi with Tomato sauce and we also got complimentary bread rolls and parmesan.
The food was okay, a bit boring, the pasta wasnt the best but it wasnt the worst either, the salad was okay and the bresaola was interesting. Nothing really wowed me and nothing really stuck.
The price was in my opinion a bit cheaper than other places where we paid about 66 Euros for everything.
The place had an okay ambient and interior, nothing eye catching.
I honestly wouldnt recommended coming here, I believe there are much better places in Como...
Read moreIf you're in Lake Como, Il Farcito is a must-visit! The food was incredible—authentic Italian flavors that made every bite memorable. The prices were fair, especially considering the quality. What really stood out was our waiter, who spoke over five languages, making the experience even more enjoyable. The service was excellent—friendly and attentive. I highly recommend Il Farcito for a fantastic meal. Only removed one star for the atmosphere. It’s a great atmosphere, however if they are busy which seems like that’s always the case then they have extra seating in the alley way by piles of garbage. Don’t get me wrong the food is phenomenal enough that if people want it - they will sit there, but it was our first time in como and Italy all together and didn’t want that to be our experience for our second meal here. Either still...
