We went for lunch, and were seated inside. We wanted to sit at the window, but were told those tables were reserved for five, and we were only four. Now, we got good time to enjoy the menu, for our waitress went missing. When she returned we got into trouble, as one of our younger had practiced asking for a plain cheeseburger- which request she could not understand. In the end we got a burger ordered, as well as a chicken salad, pasta and a simple focaccia. Not too long after, we got the food, including an extra burger that we did not order. The burger was returned. Now the burger (no cheese) turned out to be red inside, including red juice. We are careful with improperly cooked minced meat, so we ended up eating only a small part. It turned out that the focaccia was not cooked to finish either. The pasta was not very interesting, but the chicken salad was OK. The clever table payment system did not work - and no waitress was to see. We went downstairs to pay. I tried to say that we could not eat the burger, but she was only interested in telling us how lucky we were that we did not have to pay for the burger we did not order. I think we were probably a bit unlucky with our visit, but this really stand out as the worst experience of our...
Read moreWe went to eat here for dinner. Its a very central place and it seems modern. Unfortunately, the waitress was very unfriendly. She didnt smile at all, didnt say hello, thank you or anything really. She seemes annoyed at us and even being there.
We ordered our food from her and one of us got the wrong dish, which was unfortunate, but no big problem. However, the pasta was dry, it was a small portion and there was little to no effort in the presentation of the dish. The pizza was okay and the tartare was served pretty creatively but was also nothing special. It wasnt served with any bread or side.
After this, we automatically had to pay 2€ per person for the service, even though we didnt enjoy the stay there. All in all overpriced mediocre food and...
Read moreMe and my partner pass by Como every year around the Christmas time because we travel from London with our dog to go visit my family in Tuscany. This year we decided to stop by Doppio Malto to refuel, after having seen all the beautiful plates and words that @latendainsalotto shared on their social media; they’re very relatable: like us they have a non traditional family and a dog. Let me tell you, it didn’t disappoint. Our dog Lara has been welcomed very warmly and we enjoyed a very tasty and generous plate of grilled meat and roasted potatoes, amazing! This time we couldn’t try their beers as we needed to go back on the road and drive, but we’ll do that next time! We can’t wait to go back there, Doppio Malto has a special place in our heart....
