Ristorante Pizzeria Desenzanino — Restaurant in Desenzano del Garda

This could be a simple miscommunication between their staff but it kind of ruined our experience.

We went in not wanting food, just a drink. I asked the person who sat us if that was ok and he said yes. The place was very empty. Only two tables had people. It was early for dinner. The waiter who sat us was also our waiter. Brought us drinks no problem. Halfway through our drinks another waiter came by and asked if we were ready to order and gave us a real hard time when I explained we were just planning drinks. He said that wasn’t ok and continued to give us attitude after we explained our waiter said it was ok.

We asked first, it was empty, then they still made us feel bad for not being hungry and not wanting to order food. We felt rushed to finish our drinks and hurried out. They should have just said “no, we are only a restaurant” when I asked if we could just stay for drinks. Kinda silly the...

We got here by accident as we got caught in the rain and were looking for shelter. To be honest this was an amazing coincidence and a great choice! This was our first dinner in Desenzano Del Garda when we arrived and we were delighted with it! The restaurant was very busy as we waited in the que for few minutes trying to get in. However, when we ordered our food, we felt it was served very quickly! The wine recommendation we got from the waiter was amazing, it was nice to drink on it's own as well as the food we ordered. The food was also the waiters recommendation, and we were not disappointed. We had risotto with trout and tagliatelle with mushrooms - both dishes were amazing! What was also beautiful and made for a great/romantic atmosphere was lake just outside the window!

It was busy so we thought that a good sign. We waited 45 mins for our food. The pizza was meant to have pesto but I struggled to find more than 2 teaspoons worth. The beetroot pasta, which my husband had was stodgy & tasteless & he left most of it - when the waitress cleared our plates she said under her breath “goodness me” we assume because the food was hardly touched. My first drink was a white wine spritzer and when the waitress came over to take another drinks order (because the food had not arrived) she actually asked if we want the same again, but when it came, mine was a different drink altogether.
