An Unforgettable Experience at Temakinho in Fiumicino, Italy, But for All the Wrong Reasons
I wish to recount my unfortunate dining experience at Temakinho, located in Fiumicino Airport, Italy. Arriving at an off-peak time, the restaurant was relatively quiet, yet the service I encountered was appalling. The waitstaff treated me with an offhand disregard, as if my presence was a nuisance rather than a valued patron. The table setting was incomplete and disorganized, requiring me to request a menu that should have been readily available.
Purporting to serve a fusion of Brazilian and Italian cuisine, the restaurant's culinary identity seemed confusing and ambiguous. A great sin for any establishment that seeks to carve out a unique place in the world of gastronomy. The menu initially appeared intriguing, but the staff's lack of knowledge about their own dishes and dismissive attitudes left a sour taste before even taking a bite.
After seeking recommendations for a dish on the menu, the response was as uninspiring as it was unhelpful. "It's just a taco with chicken," the waitress replied, showcasing a gross lack of understanding for what she was serving. Having frequented many restaurants and worked alongside wait staff, I can say with certainty that such a lack of passion and respect for the craft is a recipe for disaster.
The fiasco continued when I ordered a POKE dish, highlighting multiple times my allergy to avocado. I double-checked with the waitress, also ordering a sushi roll and some shrimp pieces. After an unreasonable 20-minute wait, the food arrived in an arbitrary order. Worst of all, the POKE dish was served with avocado. My pleas to the waitress about the potential health risk fell on deaf ears, with her obstinately refusing to rectify the situation. Not only was the dish not replaced, but I was also charged for it.
To add insult to injury, the sushi arrived last, and despite its appealing presentation, it was dry and devoid of flavor. I requested a side of teriyaki sauce, a request that seemed logical considering the pre-existing sauce bowls on the table. This simple request somehow led to another pointless argument with the waitress. It took an excruciatingly long 30 minutes to receive the sauce, by which point, my meal was already over. The final kicker was the additional charge of 3 euros for the sauce.
The bill, the fastest thing delivered during my entire experience, reflected an unjustifiable total for the subpar experience.
In the crowded food arena of Fiumicino Airport, Temakinho stands as a stark reminder of how not to run a restaurant. I urge all travelers to spare themselves the disappointment and consider the multitude of other dining options available. Avoid Temakinho as you would a roaring fire; it was the single worst, most distastefully expensive, and entirely unpalatable dining experience I've ever endured. This was not just a culinary misstep; it was a grossly inhumane treatment...
Read moreHello dear Manager, on last 16th of October 2025 me and my wife were travelling back home 🇨🇭 from Rome airport. Then we decided to have a drink at this restaurant. I’ve never ever had a such a worst and bitchy customer service from the waitress who was in middle age Italian. We wanted to order one beer and one latte macchiato and Before welcoming us she said service charge is this and bla bla and latte macchiato is 4 euros and this is a restaurant not a bar. We said ok it’s fine. We were silent and we ordered and our order waited at the bar desk around 15 mins and she didn’t bring it and then one other lady brought it to us and the latte macchiato was cold and we wanted a new one and then this racist Italian lady came and poured hot milk in to that cold mug instead of making new one. Really disappointed. I know we are brown colour people and she thought we are also living in Italy 😂 and Lady do you think we struggle to pay 4€ on a latte macchiato? lady, first of all try to respect people and don’t judge people by their appearance and before you work go study gastronomy or hospitality or service. Come to Switzerland I’ll show how much does one latte macchiato cost? And come to 🇨🇭and look, people are not begging for money and see how they respect each other. If manager sees this, you can ask from the barman who is from philiphine. Bad Service ever!!!!! Fire...
Read moreA joke of a restaurant. I know it’s in an airport and I know that the restaurants inside of them are cheap and will give u the smallest serving for the price you pay. Even with such a low expectation this place was disgusting in how little they tried to hide their scamming of your hard earned cash.
I got a mushroom udon for 14 euros. 14 EUROS! There was a bit of ‘mushroom sauce’, maybe 8 pieces of mushroom and then get this ONE measly handful (barely a handful) of noodles. My boyfriend ordered 2 chicken tacos for 8 euro. Bro. BRO. One taco. ONLY ONE. Was the size of maybe half of his palm and the chicken tender inside was the same width and length of his ring finger. It was a piece of wheat, small, shitty chicken and the faintest IDEA of avocado and lettuce. For 8 euro. -_-
After all of that they then have the GALL, the absolute CHEEK to then go and charge me a 2 euro table charge. EACH. I was there for a grand total of 10min. I sat down, looked at the menu ordered and genuinely a minute later the food was on the table. It then took me about 2-3 minutes to eat it all because there was nothing there. THEN you stingy bad word are going to charge me a table. Waiter was chill though, it...
